The AV-OL-75 is a compact, solar-powered, ICAO Type A Low Intensity Obstruction Light engineered to deliver reliable, self-contained performance for marking aerial hazards up to 45 meters (147 feet) in height. As the smallest and lightest product of its kind on the market, the AV-OL-75 combines rugged durability, intelligent connectivity, and field-proven energy efficiency, making it ideal for marking towers, cranes, and other structures in remote or hard-to-access locations. Its innovative design includes dual high-performance monocrystalline solar modules arranged at a tilt to maximize energy capture, ensuring dependable dusk-to-dawn operation in a wide range of climates—even those with low sunlight conditions.
Constructed with a tough, UV-stabilized LEXAN® polycarbonate lens and light base, the AV-OL-75 is built to withstand harsh environmental conditions. It complies with ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1, Table 6.3 specifications for Low Intensity Obstruction Light Type A, and is certified to environmental standards including MIL-STD-202G for shock and vibration, IP68 waterproofing, and MIL-STD-810F for humidity resistance. It is also CE compliant and produced under ISO9001:2015 quality standards. Internally, the light features a microprocessor-controlled charging system that supports a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery, available in multiple capacities (17.2Ah, 21.5Ah, or 28.8Ah depending on the configuration), enabling reliable autonomous performance with minimal maintenance.
In terms of operation, the AV-OL-75 automatically activates at dusk via a built-in light sensor and offers multiple lighting modes including standby, steady-on, and dusk-to-dawn. The red LED light source meets ICAO Type A minimum intensity requirements and boasts an exceptional lifespan of over 100,000 hours. One of the key innovations of this model is its integration of Bluetooth® connectivity, allowing users to monitor and service the light from up to 50 meters away using the AvlitePro™ mobile application. This not only reduces the time and labor required for on-site maintenance but also enhances safety by minimizing the need for personnel to work at height.
For asset management and real-time remote monitoring, the AV-OL-75 can be optionally equipped with either Satcom or GSM connectivity. These telemetry options connect seamlessly to Avlite’s Star2M® Web Portal, providing centralized access to battery status, autonomy metrics, solar performance, and operational diagnostics. A built-in solar calculator within the mobile app also allows operators to verify the unit’s expected energy output and functionality at any given location prior to deployment, ensuring optimal performance and runtime longevity.
The AV-OL-75 represents a new generation of intelligent, solar-powered obstruction lighting. With its ultra-compact form factor, integrated smart technology, and proven resilience in challenging conditions, it offers a versatile and cost-effective solution for ICAO-compliant low-intensity lighting in both temporary and permanent applications.
