Shoebox Style LED Area Lights with Asymmetrical Optics for Urban, Suburban, and Commercial District Street Applications

The Q QUADRO series embodies a contemporary interpretation of the classic shoebox-style LED area light, distinguished by its elegant geometric lines and cohesive architectural design. Engineered to integrate seamlessly into a wide range of environments, it is particularly well-suited for modern urban projects, commercial districts, and public spaces where design continuity and visual refinement are key. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the series delivers outstanding optical performance, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability. Its advanced LED technology enhances nighttime visibility, reduces energy consumption, and contributes to safer, more welcoming public areas. By combining technical precision with refined design, Q QUADRO represents a forward-thinking approach to urban lighting—an essential element in reshaping how people experience and interact with illuminated spaces.

The Q5 QUADRO TRIO exemplifies this balance between form and function, providing exceptional versatility across a variety of outdoor applications. It is equipped with several asymmetrical optic configurations to meet different lighting requirements, including STE-M/S for suburban roadways, STU-M/S for urban streets and cycle paths, STW for wide urban and suburban roads with optimized performance on wet asphalt, S05 for general street and green area illumination, and SV for narrow urban streets or highway entry and exit ramps. This flexibility allows lighting designers to tailor performance precisely to the environment. The fixture operates with a standard 4000K color temperature, with an optional 3000K warmer tone available, and delivers a color rendering index (CRI) of at least 70. With a luminous efficacy of 168 lm/W at 525mA and a junction temperature of 85°C, the Q5 QUADRO TRIO achieves impressive energy efficiency while maintaining excellent optical uniformity and visual comfort. Classified in the photobiological safety “Exempt Group,” it ensures user protection under all operating conditions.

The luminaire’s design supports easy installation and maintenance. It features a removable gear tray and replaceable LED modules housed within a fully enclosed IP66-rated body, providing complete protection against dust and water ingress. The IK08 impact rating ensures resistance to mechanical stress, while insulation classes II and I offer flexibility for various electrical configurations. With an adjustable tilt angle and multiple mounting options—compatible with MT and AD/Q5 brackets or post-top poles with Ø60mm diameter—the Q5 adapts to a wide range of installations, from pedestrian zones to high-traffic roadways. It operates reliably in ambient temperatures from -40°C to +35°C, powered by a 220–240V 50/60Hz supply with a power factor greater than 0.9. The standard surge protection rating is 10kV, with an optional 10kV/10kA Type II SPD featuring LED signal indication and a thermal fuse for safe end-of-life disconnection. Control options include several configurations: fixed output (F), automatic dimming based on virtual midnight (DA), custom dimming profiles (DAC), constant light flux compensation (FLC), and DALI digital interface for networked lighting management.

Constructed from premium materials, the Q5 QUADRO TRIO demonstrates a commitment to quality and longevity. The fixing system and heatsink are made from extruded aluminum EN AW – UNI EN 755, providing excellent heat dissipation and structural integrity. The lower frame and canopy are manufactured from die-cast aluminum UNI EN 1706, ensuring both strength and corrosion resistance. Optical components are fabricated from 99.85% pure aluminum, featuring a 99.95% vacuum-sealed surface finish to maintain consistent performance over time, corresponding to an aluminum grade class A+ (DIN EN 16268). A 4mm flat tempered glass screen with high transparency protects the internal components while preserving light quality, and an IP68-rated metallic cable gland (M20x1.5) secures electrical connections with robust environmental sealing.

The Q3 QUADRO TRIO offers the same engineering excellence in a slightly more compact and lightweight configuration, maintaining identical aesthetic and technical standards. Designed for similar applications, it includes the same suite of asymmetrical optics—STE-M/S, STU-M/S, STW, S05, and SV—each optimized for specific roadway or pedestrian area requirements. The Q3 delivers a luminous efficiency of 168 lm/W at 525mA with a CRI ≥70, ensuring both performance and color fidelity suitable for urban environments. Like its larger counterpart, it belongs to the Exempt Group for photobiological safety, meeting the most stringent visual health standards.

Built to the same IP66 and IK08 protection levels, the Q3 QUADRO TRIO withstands challenging outdoor conditions while providing long service life and consistent optical performance. It features an adjustable tilt angle for precise light direction, removable gear tray and LED modules for simplified maintenance, and flexible mounting compatibility with MT and AD/Q3 brackets or Ø60mm post-top poles. Weighing approximately 12 kilograms with a side exposure area of 0.07 m² and top surface of 0.2 m², it combines durability with refined proportions suitable for a wide range of lighting installations. Its electrical specifications mirror those of the Q5—operating from -40°C to +35°C at 220–240V 50/60Hz, with a power factor above 0.9 and optional enhanced surge protection. Control configurations are equally comprehensive, offering fixed output, automatic dimming, custom dimming profiles, constant flux control, and DALI-based management for integration into smart lighting networks.

Materially and structurally, the Q3 shares the same meticulous construction philosophy as the Q5. It features extruded aluminum for its fixing and heatsink, die-cast aluminum UNI EN 1706 for the lower frame and canopy, and optics manufactured from premium aluminum with a high-purity vacuum-sealed surface treatment. The flat tempered glass screen, 4mm thick, ensures both transparency and protection, while the metallic IP68 cable gland guarantees safe electrical connections under demanding weather conditions.

Together, the Q3 and Q5 models define the Q QUADRO family’s distinctive blend of architectural sophistication and high-performance engineering. These luminaires combine advanced LED optics, thermal efficiency, and intelligent control with sleek, minimalistic design, making them ideal for urban lighting masterplans and commercial developments. Whether installed in modern districts, pedestrian areas, or transportation corridors, the Q QUADRO series transforms cityscapes by providing safe, efficient, and visually cohesive illumination that elevates both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
