The Vesper Semi-Flush Mount LED Ceiling Light was designed by Tommy Govén to address the market need for well de-glared downlights that also provide a soft, ambient glow. Intended to combine glare control with visual comfort, the Vesper line includes both a semi-recessed ceiling version and a pendant option. Its neutral, timeless aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly into both traditional and contemporary architectural environments, making it suitable for a wide range of applications—from corridors and public spaces to café tables, conference rooms, and reception areas.
At the heart of the Vesper design is a hand-blown opal glass shade paired with an aluminum body and a matte reflector that offers a symmetrical 53° light spread. The opal glass has a matte finish that diffuses light evenly, minimizing glare and enhancing visual comfort. As the shade gently glows, it provides a soft transition between the focused downlight and the ceiling, while its high color rendering (CRI 90) ensures accurate color perception and a pleasant lighting experience.
The ceiling-mounted version of Vesper offers flexible installation with adjustable recessed depth, allowing the aesthetic and light output to be tailored to the space. It can be recessed into both soft suspended ceilings and plaster ceilings, with an optional mounting plate available for more complex installations. The minimum recessed depth is 77 mm from the ceiling edge, and the fixture can accommodate ceiling thicknesses up to 55 mm.
Constructed with care, the Vesper’s shade is crafted through a mouth-blowing technique that gives each piece a unique character. The luminaire is supplied with a 3-meter, 5G0.75 mm² cable with flying leads; quick connectors can be quoted upon request. It includes a built-in LED light source with a 3000K color temperature slightly below the black body line (BBBL), delivering a tone slightly warmer than standard 3000K. Options for 2700K and 4000K color temperatures are also available on request. The luminaire achieves a chromaticity tolerance of max 3 SDCM and boasts a long lifespan of L90B10 70,000 hours.
Light output is thoughtfully balanced, with 53° direct symmetrical lighting and a subtle decorative uplight illuminating the opal glass. The integrated DALI driver supports smooth, flicker-free dimming from 1% to 100%, controllable via DALI or push-button interfaces. This energy-efficient luminaire is rated class E under current energy classification standards and is designed to deliver lasting performance with elevated light comfort.
