The Buzz Wall luminaire series embodies versatility and thoughtful design, created to meet the needs of corporate environments seeking flexible and efficient lighting solutions. Conceived by Olle Anderson during the era when luminaire series became central to ateljé Lyktan’s product development, Buzz offers both excellent illumination and adaptable aesthetics that suit a range of professional spaces.
Buzz features a robust construction with a stand and footplate crafted from chromed steel, paired with a color-lacquered aluminum shade. The interior of the shade is lined with white foil, complemented by matte white lacquered inner aluminum shades. For added texture and warmth, users can opt for a textile shade made from either pure wool or linen, each incorporating an inner frosted cup or acrylic foil to enhance light diffusion.
The wool shade, designed in a rounded conical form, is covered with Remix textile from Kvadrat—a premium blend composed of 90% pure wool and 10% nylon. This combination creates optimal light distribution thanks to the inner frosted acrylic glass. In contrast, the linen option takes the shape of a cylindrical shade, featuring a thinner frosted inner foil, and is produced in Viskafors, Sweden, made from 100% linen fabric. This contrast in forms and materials brings a harmonious balance to the Buzz design.
Functionally, Buzz is engineered to provide effective downward lighting suitable for both table and floor applications. The lampshade holder ring is finished with a matte lacquered surface, producing a gentle raking light that visually contrasts with the shade’s finish when viewed from the side, adding subtle depth to the fixture’s appearance.
Installation is straightforward, with the luminaire mounted on a wall bracket for secure placement. Electrical connection is via fixed installation using a terminal block 3x2.5 mm² or an optional 2-meter feed cable with black halogen-free plug. The included LED light source emits a warm 2700K color temperature with a CRI of 80, ensuring natural and comfortable illumination. The light source maintains a chromaticity tolerance of up to 3 SDCM.
In compliance with current standards, the Buzz Wall luminaires containing light sources fall under energy efficiency class G according to regulation (EU) No 2019/2015, reflecting their commitment to balancing performance with environmental considerations.
