Robe T2 Fresnel: Multi-Spectral LED Theatre Lighting Fixture with High CRI and CMY Color Mixing for Professional Stage and Studio Applications

Robe’s T2 Fresnel™ builds upon the exceptional colour control and finesse of the acclaimed T1 series, incorporating the powerful 850W MSL™ (Multi-Spectral LED) engine to deliver a high-performance output of more than 15,000 lumens. Maintaining the precision and depth of colour that Robe is known for, this fixture is a robust evolution tailored for demanding theatrical and studio environments.

Designed with a 7° to 62° zoom range and a characteristically soft beam, the T2 Fresnel is ideal for long-throw applications in theatre, television, and touring. Its optical system—built on Robe’s proprietary design—ensures high efficiency, consistent output, and full control over beam shaping. Users benefit from seamless colour mixing via CMY control, plus access to 237 DataSwatch™ pre-programmed colours through the RCC™ (Robe Colour Calibration) algorithm. With a variable CCT range from 2,700K to 8,000K, the T2 delivers a wide spectrum of whites and hues, perfectly matched to those of the T1, allowing the two fixtures to be used interchangeably for consistent colour across any lighting design.

The T2 Fresnel offers theatrical-grade dimming using Robe’s L3™ dimming system, which enables smooth, imperceptible fades to black. It also features a high CRI of 95+, ensuring accurate, natural skin tone rendering. Designed specifically for the needs of broadcast environments, the T2 includes a ± green channel and Cpulse™ flicker-free management system, making it compatible with all camera systems, including HD, UHD, 8K, and beyond.

For installations in sound-sensitive venues like studios, theatres, and houses of worship, the T2 incorporates AirLOC™ (Less Optical Cleaning) technology. This not only keeps operating noise to a minimum but also prevents the accumulation of dust on optical components, significantly extending the intervals between maintenance.

A hallmark of the T2 is its array of advanced beam control tools, including the patented internal 4Door™ barndoor system with individual leaf control and module rotation, as well as the patented RotaScrim™ system for asymmetrical lighting and hot spot management. The fixture includes interchangeable frosts via the MagFrost™ magnetic system, delivering both 5° and 10° options ideal for theatrical and studio use. Additional features such as ECC™ (Edge Colour Correction), motorized zoom, adjustable CRI, tungsten lamp emulation, and a wide selection of dynamic effects offer unparalleled flexibility.

Technically, the T2 Fresnel is equipped with a comprehensive control system including RDM, ArtNet, MA Net, sACN, and optional CRMX™ wireless. It uses the ROBE Navigation System 2 with a QVGA screen and supports REAP™ (Robe Ethernet Access Portal) and Epass™ for uninterrupted network integrity. The fixture’s motion system provides 540° pan and 265° tilt with electronic motion stabilization and optional MAPS™ for absolute positioning.

Internally, the patented barndoor module features four individually controllable blades and ±90° rotation. The RotaScrim™ module offers graduated light control and ±180° rotation for asymmetrical lighting needs. The fixture can operate in environments with ambient temperatures up to 45°C, and includes silent mode options with a noise level as low as 23 dB(A) at 1 meter.

With a robust mechanical build, the T2 Fresnel measures 802 mm in height and weighs 33.5 kg. It features multiple rigging points, omega adaptors with quick-locks, and transport locks for pan and tilt. Electrically, it is powered via a 100-240V auto-ranging supply with a max power consumption of 1150W, using a Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 connector.

In total, the Robe T2 Fresnel™ is engineered to deliver uncompromising output, superior colour accuracy, and advanced optical and motion features, making it an essential tool for professionals in theatre, television, and live event production.
