Building on the compact, fast-moving design of the original, the new Spikie+® delivers even more visual power with a 25% increase in lumen output, thanks to its upgraded 60W RGBW LED light source. This enhancement ensures sharper, more intense beams that cut through any lighting design with greater impact and clarity.
Spikie+® features a specifically engineered 110mm front lens that supports a rapid-moving zoom, generating tight, defined 4-degree beams that expand out to a smooth 28-degree wash. The result is a remarkably flexible fixture capable of producing dramatic visual transitions and scene-shaping effects. At the heart of Spikie+® is Robe’s patented MCFE™ (Multi-Coloured Flower Effects), which creates dynamic, multicolour beams rotating in both directions with variable speed—perfect for creating eye-catching aerial visuals.
The unit’s Beam Effects Engine enhances this further by splitting the output into three sharp, narrow rays, while its continuous pan and tilt motion introduces a stunning layer of fluid, high-energy movement. Colour management is robust and versatile, with selectable CMY or RGBW mixing modes, a variable CTO range from 2,700K to 8,000K, and tungsten lamp emulation that recreates the warm, organic glow of traditional sources at 2,700K and 3,200K with realistic red shift and thermal delay.
Compact and lightweight at just 7.3 kg, Spikie+® is easy to rig at any angle. It ships with one Omega bracket and is available in eco-friendly cardboard, as well as single, quad, or eight-pack cases, making it ideal for touring, rentals, or fixed installations.
Under the hood, Spikie+® uses Robe’s proprietary high-efficiency optical system with a 7:1 zoom ratio. It delivers 1,550 lumens (measured via integrating sphere) and 11,000 lux at 5 meters, ensuring bright, vibrant performance in even large venues. Its features include variable speed strobing up to 20 Hz, a 3-facet rotating prism, smooth 0–100% dimming with internal 18-bit resolution, and pre-programmed strobe and pulse effects.
For control, the fixture supports USITT DMX-512 and RDM protocols, with optional wireless CRMX™ from Lumen Radio. Two DMX protocol modes offer between 21 and 27 control channels, and Spikie+® supports both 8-bit and 16-bit resolution for parameters like zoom, dimming, pan, tilt, and color mixing. It also allows for stand-alone operation with three editable programs, each with up to 40 steps.
Pan and tilt movement ranges are 540° and 360° respectively, both with continuous rotation and automatic position correction. Speed and standard movement modes ensure smooth and adjustable transitions. Designed to operate in ambient temperatures up to 45°C and as low as -5°C, Spikie+® efficiently manages heat with total dissipation of up to 340 BTU/h.
The fixture’s power supply is electronic auto-ranging, accommodating 100–240V at 50/60 Hz, with a maximum consumption of just 100W. Connections include Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 in/out for power and 5-pin XLR for DMX and RDM data.
Physically, the Spikie+® stands 408mm tall, 277mm wide, and 147mm deep with an IP20 rating. Rigging is simple with universal mounting positions, 1/4-turn locking points, and a safety cable attachment.
