The rFin is a sleek, recessed wall luminaire designed specifically for outdoor step and path lighting. Engineered for vertical wall installation in a downlighting position only, rFin is available in configurations featuring one or two LEDs, delivering between 43 to 81 lumens of output while consuming either 2.2 W or 4.4 W of power. The fixture operates on 10–15 Vac/dc input voltage at 50/60 Hz and requires a remote transformer, specified separately. It integrates an onboard driver and features Lumileds® LEDs combined with CoolDrive™ thermal monitoring and control for optimized performance and longevity exceeding 72,000 hours (L70, B10, TM21 Reported).
The luminaire supports dimming via Luxor® control or trailing-edge dimmers. For advanced control, pairing with the ZDClink Controller allows zoning of up to 250 lighting groups, dimming in 1% increments, and dynamic color changes when RGBW LEDs are used. The standard rFin is compatible with ZDClink for zoning, while optional ZD and ZDC configurations support full dimming and color control capabilities.
Durability is central to the rFin's construction, with a die-cast C360 brass faceplate, A380 aluminum housing, and PBT mounting sleeve. Stainless steel hardware is tamper-resistant, and the luminaire is sealed with MicroAntileach™ technology to prevent moisture ingress. The lens is frosted polycarbonate, providing high shock resistance and tolerance to thermal expansion. Multiple horizontal louvers aid in glare control, and the fixture maintains a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0, with IES Type IV classification. For dark-sky compliance, a light source of 3,000K or lower is recommended.
The rFin is suitable for dry, damp, and wet environments, with an IP64 rating and an operating temperature range of 0°F to 140°F (-18°C to 60°C). It includes a pre-install kit featuring a custom sleeve and debris cover, with knockouts for 1/2'' North American pipe threads accessible from vertical and horizontal orientations. The fixture's 10-foot lead is made of 18 AWG (1 mm) SPT-1W rated wire, capable of withstanding up to 220°F (105°C) and 300 V.
Available finishes include natural metal, Antique Bronze (antiqued and brushed), Antique Tumbled, and a dual-layer treatment combining sulfuric acid anodization with a TGIC polyester powder coat. These finishes are tested to ASTM standards, with antique versions sealed in a clear TGIC topcoat for enhanced weather resistance. The rFin meets UL1838 standards and complies with IEC 60598-1 and IEC 60598-2-4 when used with the International Wall Kit (EKITWALL).
