STEP is a purpose-built architectural luminaire designed to seamlessly integrate into its surroundings while providing precise and effective illumination for steps and pathways. Engineered with an asymmetric light distribution, STEP maximizes efficiency by directing light exactly where it's needed, enhancing safety and visibility without creating unnecessary spill or glare. Its design prioritizes subtlety and function, blending into the built environment while delivering targeted lighting for walkways, stairs, and circulation zones.
Constructed from low copper, die-cast aluminum, the housing offers excellent resistance to oxidation, ensuring long-term durability in outdoor environments. The fixture is finished with a high-quality polyester-based powder coating available in three standard color options. A Turtle-friendly amber LED is also available, making STEP suitable for environmentally sensitive areas such as coastal or wildlife-adjacent sites.
The optical system features high-purity aluminum reflectors and a 4mm (0.2”) thick tempered glass diffuser that provides durability and optical clarity. A silicone gasket ensures a secure seal against moisture and dust ingress, contributing to the luminaire’s long lifespan in exterior applications.
Cable management is supported via a double silicone gland designed to accommodate cables with a diameter of 10–14 mm (0.4–0.5”). External screws are made of A4 stainless steel and treated with an antioxidant, water-repellent lubricating solution to facilitate easy maintenance and reliable access over time.
Designed for recessed wall installation in poured concrete or brick, STEP is paired with a thermoplastic rough-in housing and operates with a high power factor (HPF) electronic driver compatible with 120–277V input. The fixture is Dark Sky Friendly when specified with a 3000K CCT option, minimizing light pollution and complying with outdoor lighting best practices.
