At the heart of Zen’s design is its patented inverted “U” form, engineered to deliver soft, comfortable LED illumination. This form emits a higher degree of downward luminance from the top, rather than from the sides, creating a natural and visually pleasing distribution. The pendant variants are equipped with SurroundLite® optics, which expand the lighting footprint by producing ample, glare-free downlight and broad reflected illumination—enhancing both comfort and coverage.
Engineered for longevity and consistency, Zen recessed fixtures come with LED light engines that are field-replaceable and upgradable. This future-proof approach ensures extended service life and simplifies maintenance. All light engines deliver a minimum of 80 or 90 CRI for excellent color rendering and are available in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K color temperatures. Color consistency is maintained within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse, ensuring uniform appearance both within individual fixtures and across entire installations.
Built with thermal management in mind, Zen's extruded aluminum housing functions as a heat sink to maintain performance and reliability. These fixtures operate safely in dry and damp indoor environments, within ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F), and are certified to UL and CSA standards. They also meet CCEC (Chicago Plenum) requirements.
Zen Recessed lighting supports a broad array of advanced driver options, including Lutron LDE1 Hi-lume® 1% EcoSystem with Soft-on, Fade-to-Black, DALI, DMX, Xitanium SR for wireless sensing, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) configurations. Systems are UL2108 certified for both integral and remote driver use and are compatible with MOLEX, IGOR, and SMARTENGINE platforms. Emergency options include integral battery packs or emergency circuit configurations. Input voltages supported include 120V, 277V, 347V, and UNV (universal).
The mechanical construction includes a durable extruded aluminum housing (0.075" nominal), die-cast aluminum end caps (0.10" nominal), and robust mounting brackets made from 16-gauge cold rolled painted sheet steel.
