Designed as a playful architectural tool, SkyePlane is available in five different square and rectangular forms. At the core of SkyePlane’s visual identity is its elegantly regressed lens, which creates the illusion of a skylight, adding depth and dimension to the ceiling plane. The regressed lensing not only enhances the architectural appeal but also provides effective shielding angles that contribute to glare control. Its evenly diffused lens ensures soft, balanced luminance across the surface, promoting visual comfort in commercial interiors. The lift-and-shift lens design makes maintenance effortless, eliminating visible latches for a clean and uninterrupted appearance.
SkyePlane is well suited for both small and large spaces, offering an affordable and imaginative way to build luminous ceilings that echo natural light. The 1' x 1' size can also be mounted in the center of ceiling tiles with an optional mounting kit, allowing for precise alignment and seamless integration into a wide range of interior environments. Designers can further enhance lighting performance by choosing optional Axitune™ technology, including both Dim-to-Warm and Tunable White capabilities. These features support circadian-friendly lighting strategies and allow end users to adjust color temperature and intensity for mood, comfort, and productivity.
The luminaire integrates with a variety of advanced driver systems. These include Lutron Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem drivers with soft-on, fade-to-black dimming, as well as DALI, DMX, and Xitanium SR drivers for wired or wireless sensor compatibility. SkyePlane also supports BIOS SkyBlue® technology, which brings biological benefits through dynamic or static spectrum lighting options. Bio-Dimming™ gradually reduces CCT from 4000K to 2700K while maintaining a relatively stable lumen output, supporting natural circadian rhythms.
SkyePlane supports power over Ethernet (PoE) protocols and can be equipped with POE drivers from Molex, IGOR, SmartEngine, and others. Emergency backup options are available via remote battery packs or emergency circuits. The luminaire is rated for input voltages of 120V, 277V, 347V, UNV, or DC power sources.
Engineered for reliability and longevity, SkyePlane features a die-formed cold-rolled steel housing with high-reflectance post-painted steel reflectors. The lens is crafted from a 0.125" PMMA satin blend, and the door frame is made of extruded aluminum. Drywall flange kits are available for specialty installations, and integrated hold-down clips ensure secure mounting.
Certified to UL and CSA standards, SkyePlane is also Chicago Plenum Certified (CCEA), meets NYC electrical code requirements, and is rated for use in insulated ceilings (IC Rated). Designed for indoor use in dry or damp environments, it operates reliably in ambient temperatures from 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F). With a minimum LED life of 50,000 hours at 85% lumen maintenance, SkyePlane ensures long-lasting performance while enhancing ceilings with luminous architectural style.
