The G2 AL is a recessed anti-ligature low-wattage LED downlighter designed for secure environments where safety and durability are essential. Engineered with a strong emphasis on tamper resistance and robust construction, this luminaire features a circular recessed design with a high-pressure die-cast aluminium bezel. The diffuser is available in either a clear prismatic or satin finish, both made from 3 mm thick polycarbonate and secured using T10 pin Torx tamper-resistant screws, ensuring a secure installation in challenging settings.
Ideal for use in custodial, mental health, or other high-risk areas, the G2 AL includes a remote phosphor mixing chamber for consistent light quality and is supplied with a remote control gear unit connected via a 2-meter lead. Its construction supports a recessed mounting setup and carries an IP44 ingress protection rating (IP20 above the ceiling), as well as an IK09 impact rating, offering excellent resistance to mechanical damage and ingress of moisture.
The luminaire delivers a lumen output range of 325 to 670 lumens with an efficacy of up to 48.6 lumens per circuit watt. Emergency lighting functionality is built in, providing 85 lumens of maintained light for up to 3 hours, powered by a Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery system.
With LED power consumption between 6 W and 12 W, and circuit power ranging from 7 W to 14 W, the G2 AL operates at a 4000 K colour temperature and delivers a CRI of 80+, offering neutral white light with good color rendering. Designed for longevity, it boasts an impressive rated life of 100,000 hours (L90/B10).
