The LinkEx™ WF-300®XL LED Floodlite is a high-performance, portable, and robust LED floodlight engineered for safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Certified to the latest ATEX and IECEx standards, including OP IS optical intrinsic safety, the WF-300®XL is ideal for hazardous area lighting in environments classified as Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. With an extended ambient operating range from -40°C to +55°C, the floodlight delivers exceptional reliability, performance, and protection in the world’s harshest industrial conditions.
At the heart of the WF-300®XL is a patented dual-panel LED light engine, delivering a powerful white light output of up to 6,378 lumens (optical) or 9,576 lumens at source, using two independently powered arrays of 18 high-power LEDs each. Each LED is encapsulated with an individual optical device, producing a 33-degree medium flood beam that offers both long-distance projection and wide area illumination. This design not only minimizes shadowing but also ensures failsafe redundancy—should one driver or panel fail, the other continues operating to maintain light output and operational safety.
This floodlight is fitted with Wolf Safety’s unique SOVI™ (Safe Optimal Voltage Indicator) system, which continuously monitors the supply voltage. If the unit operates outside of its certified voltage range, the beam pulses to alert the user—dim pulses for overvoltage and brighter pulses for undervoltage. This intuitive feature ensures consistent performance and operator safety. The system supports operation down to 0 volts, providing additional protection during power irregularities.
The WF-300®XL is cable-powered and available in two voltage ranges: 18–50V AC/DC for low-voltage applications, and 90–264V AC/DC for general mains operation. Both variants come with 10 meters of SY cable and an ATX plug as standard, though other cable options are available. The high-voltage version can also be equipped with a LinkEx™ socket, allowing up to 20 floodlights to be daisy-chained from a single power source, making it ideal for large-scale illumination projects in tanks, tunnels, or confined hazardous zones.
Built for durability, the WF-300®XL’s enclosure is crafted from marine-grade aluminium, powder-coated for corrosion resistance, and paired with a toughened, scratch-resistant, impact- and chemical-resistant glass lens. The protective 316 stainless steel frame offers robust mechanical defense, with the fixture certified to withstand impacts up to 8 joules, four times the minimum industry requirement. Its enclosure achieves an IP66/67 ingress protection rating, ensuring it is completely dust-tight and protected from high-pressure water ingress.
The fixture’s thermal management system includes precision-engineered heat dissipation fins and electronic control, ensuring consistent performance and extending LED lifespan to over 100,000 hours. Maintenance is straightforward thanks to the modular, serviceable design—all major components, including independent drivers and LED panels, can be replaced individually. The unit ships with comprehensive instructions and a parts list, ensuring field maintenance is quick and cost-effective.
The WF-300®XL is also offered in fixed-mounted versions for permanent hazardous area installations. It is designed to seamlessly integrate with Wolf Safety’s existing portfolio of LinkEx™ LED temporary luminaires, transformers, splitter boxes, and cable extensions, forming a complete, scalable lighting system tailored for hazardous environments.
Each unit is backed by industry-recognized certifications including CML 18ATEX3372X and IECEx CML 18.0198X, and meets classifications for Zone 1 and 2 gas groups IIA, IIB, and IIC as well as Zones 21 and 22 dust groups IIIA, IIIB, and IIIC, with a T4 temperature class and a maximum surface temperature of 118°C. Weighing 7.3 kg (excluding cable), the WF-300®XL balances ruggedness and portability.
Accessories such as magnet fixings, tripod stands, and bridles enhance deployment flexibility, while technical support and servicing from Wolf Safety’s expert teams ensure reliability throughout the product’s lifecycle. The WF-300®XL stands out as an efficient, durable, and safety-first solution for temporary hazardous area lighting, offering unmatched performance in oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and confined space applications.
