The NAO RL is an ergonomic, ultra-powerful rechargeable headlamp designed especially for trail running and ultra-running enthusiasts. Delivering 1500 lumens of brightness while weighing just 145 grams, it offers a perfectly balanced and comfortable fit thanks to its adjustable headband and additional top strap, ensuring excellent support even during long, demanding races. Its lightweight design includes a thin, flexible front plate that adapts well to different head shapes, making it ideal for active use.
Equipped with Petzl’s innovative REACTIVE LIGHTING® technology, the NAO RL automatically adjusts its brightness according to ambient light conditions, reducing the need for manual adjustments and optimizing battery life. This technology provides a wide, uniform beam for clear close-range vision and a mixed beam that combines wide and focused lighting for both proximity and distance visibility, which is essential when moving quickly over varied terrain. The headlamp features three white lighting levels—MAX BURN TIME, STANDARD (balanced power and runtime), and MAX POWER—allowing users to customize their lighting. With a minimum burn time of five hours on STANDARD mode in REACTIVE LIGHTING®, it’s built to last through extended activities.
For added safety, the NAO RL includes a red rear light with both continuous and strobe settings, easily controlled via a separate button to keep you visible in low-light conditions. The headlamp’s battery pack is positioned at the back of the head to evenly distribute weight, enhancing comfort during use. Powered by a rechargeable 3200 mAh lithium-ion battery, it charges via a USB Type-C port in approximately 3.5 hours. A spare R1 battery is available for longer adventures and can also serve as a power bank for charging devices like phones or watches.
Additional features include a battery charge indicator with a five-level gauge for precise monitoring, a LOCK function to prevent accidental activation or changes during use, and a reflective headband for enhanced visibility at night.
