The optical performance of Kubus is highly customizable. Façade luminaires offer upward and downward beam emissions to structure large surfaces and bring out the depth and texture of architectural materials through grazing light. The use of Spherolit or sculpture lenses in these luminaires allows for precision in shaping the beam—either narrow or wide—depending on the design intent. To avoid glare from upward emission, mounting the luminaires above eye level is recommended, with luminaire spacing adjusted to align with architectural grids for optimal accentuation.
Floor washlights within the Kubus family are available with either wide or deep beam distributions, both delivering glare-free, subtle illumination. Wide distribution lenses such as the sculpture lens or Spherolit lens are ideal for pathways near façades, while deep distribution lenses including the prismatic or Spherolit types suit open areas adjacent to buildings. In both cases, the recommended mounting height is 0.8 meters. For even ground illumination, luminaire spacing can be up to twice the mounting height, while visual guidance applications can allow spacing up to ten times the height, offering flexibility in layout depending on visual and functional requirements.
Constructed with durability and visual harmony in mind, the Kubus luminaire housing is made from corrosion-resistant cast aluminum with a No-Rinse surface treatment, finished in Graphit m with a double powder coat. The design also minimizes dirt accumulation, contributing to its clean, low-maintenance appearance. Each luminaire features a high-power LED module available in warm white (3000K) or neutral white (4000K), with collimating lenses made from optical polymer to ensure sharp, controlled beam shaping. Protection rating IP65 guarantees the fixture is dust-tight and water jet-proof, making it well-suited to harsh outdoor environments.
Control options include standard switchable operation, with additional DALI dimmable versions available on request.
