The PS LED Downlight represents the next generation of fixed-mount LED downlights, designed primarily for top-mount installation. It offers versatile options with 3, 6, or 9 LED boards and is available in a range of metal and powder coat finishes, including an optional copper cover. This fixture comes with a free mounting bracket that allows for tool-free servicing after the initial installation, enhancing convenience for maintenance.
Constructed from die-cast aluminum or brass, the PS features a robust housing with a two-layer marine-grade anodization and powder coat finish, available in natural, powder coated, or antiqued brass finishes. The fixture uses Cree® integrated LEDs known for reliability and high performance, supported by color temperature filters for customized lighting effects. The PS is compatible with Luxor® technology, allowing advanced zoning and dimming capabilities with phase and PWM dimming options. It operates on an input voltage of 10–15V, offering various lumen outputs depending on the LED configuration.
Inside, the PS incorporates MoistureBlock™ technology within its socket to prevent moisture from wicking into the sealed areas, ensuring long-lasting durability. The LEDs are integrated modules with gold-plated connectors and conformal coating for maximum corrosion resistance. The onboard intelligent driver uses firmware-controlled temperature regulation to maximize LED lifespan, which is rated at up to 50,000 hours and is field upgradeable and replaceable.
Wiring consists of 18 AWG cable with high temperature and voltage ratings, and the fixture requires a remote transformer for power, specified separately. Optics include polycarbonate color temperature adjustment lenses preinstalled at 2700K, with options for 3900K, 4500K, and 5200K. Interchangeable beam angle optics are available in 10°, 20°, 30°–32°, or 55°–58° distributions, all preassembled or field-serviceable. Accessories like additional color filters, spread lenses, and hex baffles fit standard MR-16 sizes.
The housing is made from die-cast C360 brass, accommodating various LED configurations from 1 to 9 LEDs or ZDC integrated LEDs. The lens is tempered glass, designed to withstand shocks and thermal stress. The fixture hardware includes stainless steel mounting brackets for quick assembly and tamper-resistant setscrews for security. The finish options range from natural brass to copper or antiqued finishes with brushed or tumbled effects, sealed with a clear TGIC powder coat for protection.
Designed to operate in ambient temperatures from 0°F to 140°F (-18°C to 60°C), the PS downlight weighs 2.5 pounds (1.1 kg). The product is manufactured with sustainability in mind, incorporating recycled materials wherever possible while maintaining high functionality, energy efficiency, and durability. It meets international compliance standards per IEC 60598-1 and IEC 60598-2-7 when used with the appropriate custom installation kit.
Installation requires the fixture to be mounted in a downward lighting direction only. Additionally, when configured with the 3LEDT output option, the PS downlight is certified as Wildlife-Friendly Lighting by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, making it a conscientious choice for environmentally sensitive outdoor lighting.
