The LAPL-100 is a specialized helipad aircraft warning light designed as an aiming point indicator to clearly mark the exact loading position for helicopters during landing and take-off operations. This inset light emits a steady-burning white light that is omnidirectional, ensuring 360-degree visibility. It is particularly effective in both nighttime conditions and daytime scenarios with low visibility, guiding pilots accurately to the designated loading zone. Control of the LAPL-100 is managed through a switch located in the heliport control cabinet, allowing integration into standard heliport lighting systems.
Engineered for performance and durability, the LAPL-100 features a high-strength lamp cover made from polycarbonate (PC) material. This cover offers excellent impact resistance with an IZOD notch impact strength of 90, and it maintains structural integrity under high temperatures, operating effectively up to 130°C. The material also provides outstanding light transmission—up to 90%—while offering built-in ultraviolet protection, anti-aging properties, and a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, ensuring safety and reliability in demanding environments.
The body of the light is constructed from high-quality aluminum using liquid casting techniques, followed by an oxidation treatment to enhance corrosion resistance and surface durability. At its core, the LAPL-100 utilizes advanced international-grade LED technology, delivering low power consumption and high luminous efficiency. This ensures a remarkably long service life of up to 100,000 hours. Additionally, the fixture includes a built-in surge protection device capable of handling 7.5 kA over five surges (with a maximum of 15 kA), allowing it to withstand electrical disturbances and operate reliably in harsh or unstable environments.
