The Obelux low-intensity LED obstruction light series is purpose-built for marking tall structures such as wind turbines, chimneys, radio and telecommunications masts, and towers. This advanced range includes multiple certified models: Type A (10 candela), Type B (32 candela), Type E (32 candela), and a high-output 50 candela version, as well as the FAA-compliant L-810/F. Each variant is available with either fixed or flashing red aviation light, and all models can be equipped with fully Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compliant infrared output at 850nm. This infrared function ensures compatibility with night vision equipment, making the system suitable for both civilian and military airspace applications.
Obelux obstruction lights provide full 360° horizontal beam coverage and a vertical beam spread of 10°, ensuring visibility from all necessary angles. They integrate essential components such as a built-in photocell for automatic day/night operation, internal switching, and fault monitoring. GPS synchronization is also available, enabling coordinated flashing patterns across multiple units. Designed for ease of installation and operation, the lights function either as standalone units with alarm signaling capabilities or as part of a broader Obelux aviation lighting system via Modbus serial interface. The units operate with extremely low power consumption and provide long maintenance-free lifespans, reducing operational costs and minimizing maintenance needs in remote or hard-to-access sites.
Each light is engineered using robust, weather-resistant materials and includes a thermostat-controlled heater to maintain functionality in cold climates. DC-powered models include a smart heating system and deep discharge protection, making them ideal for off-grid or battery-powered operation. Electrical compatibility is broad, with AC models supporting a voltage range of 100–250VAC at 50–60Hz, and DC models operating within 10–60VDC. All variants are protected by a Type II overvoltage protection system and feature isolated RS-485 communication and integrated alarm relays, rated for 250VAC @ 8A and 50VDC @ 1A.
The Obelux low-intensity series complies with a wide range of international aviation standards. These include the ICAO Annex 14 Volume 1 (8th Edition, July 2018), covering low-intensity light Types A, B, and E; FAA AC 150/5345-43J specifications for L-810/F obstruction lights (including L-864 and L-885 categories); and national aviation regulations from several countries. Certifications include Finnish TraFi (Finland), Transportstyrelsen TTSFS 2020:88 (Sweden), Luftfartstilsynet FOR-2014-07-15-980 (Norway), Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Milieu regulations for low-intensity lighting (Netherlands), and the latest German AVV Kennzeichnung (marking regulation) certified as Hindernisfeuer ES, effective from 15 December 2023.
Built on reliable LED technology, each unit in this product family is backed by a standard 5-year warranty, with an optional 10-year warranty available, underscoring Obelux’s commitment to performance, safety, and durability in aviation obstruction lighting.
