TOMAR’s 975 Scorpion™ Series Modular LED Light Bars are engineered to meet the most demanding emergency response and utility applications with unmatched durability, performance, and customization. These rugged and mission-ready half light bars are built on TOMAR’s proven 970 Series platform, featuring robust extruded aluminum housings and high-impact Lexan light modules to deliver reliable service in the harshest environments. Designed for emergency warning and scene lighting, the 975 Scorpion is available in a variety of lengths—ranging from 16 inches to 75 inches—making it suitable for fire apparatus, ambulances, snowplows, construction vehicles, mining and agricultural equipment, tow trucks, and more.
At the core of the 975 Scorpion’s strength is its modular design, allowing for scalable configurations tailored to specific applications and budgets. Each light bar features a continuous rear mounting track for secure installation on vertical surfaces, ideal for emergency and work vehicles. For added utility, the system is Dual-Mode™ compatible, enabling both emergency warning and high-output scene lighting in a single unit. The Clear Vision Optics™ system, unique to TOMAR, utilizes hybrid Total Internal Reflector (TIR) collimators that maximize LED efficiency by focusing light exactly where it’s needed—down the road—reducing glare while improving visibility and safety for both responders and oncoming traffic.
Every 975 module is hermetically sealed using a patented linear vibration welding process, making them fully dustproof and waterproof. This ensures long-lasting protection for sensitive internal components, even in extreme weather and operating conditions. The potted controller and waterproof wiring further enhance the light bar’s reliability in real-world field use. Lamp modules are available in 3-LED or 6-LED configurations and can include corner modules where applicable. Select models also incorporate integrated 6- or 8-element traffic directors and optional STT (Stop-Tail-Turn) lights on bars 49 inches and longer.
The 975 Scorpion is fully programmable with 48 unique flash patterns and offers optional scene lighting modules with either wide-area coverage or a 13° down-angle beam for focused illumination. Authorized users may also choose to equip the bar with the STROBECOM II® IR emitter, delivering over 2,500 feet of range for traffic signal preemption. The entire series is designed and manufactured in Gilbert, Arizona, and meets or exceeds critical safety standards including SAE J595, SAE J2498, California Title 13, and NFPA configurations.
Each light bar length corresponds to a specific number of sealed light modules: the 16" model has 2 modules, 21" has 3, 26" has 4, 30" has 5, 40" has 6, 44" has 8, 48" has 9, 53" and 62" have 10, and the 75" version features 12 modules. This allows organizations to select the ideal configuration for their vehicle footprint while ensuring maximum visibility and warning effectiveness.
