The Eagle Pendant has a fascinating origin linked to the iconic Treehotel, inaugurated in 2010 in the village of Harads near the Arctic Circle in Norrbotten. The Mirrorcube, designed by Tham & Videgård Architects, is a mirrored wooden structure that seamlessly blends into the surrounding forest. When it came to lighting the room, ateljé Lyktan’s special tailored service, The Studio, collaborated to create the Eagle lamp. Initially a Studio project, this modern luminaire soon transitioned into full production, becoming a celebrated design piece.
Versatile in its use, the Eagle Pendant suits a variety of environments. Whether hung above a dining table at home, installed in an office setting, or arranged in groups in public spaces, it creates a striking visual impact. The lamp’s design draws inspiration from the cube shape of the Mirrorcube itself. This geometric form is cleverly unfolded into the shape of a majestic bird, giving the luminaire its name and distinctive character. The Eagle is available in two standard colors, white and black, allowing it to complement diverse interior styles.
Constructed with a housing made of die-cast aluminum, the Eagle Pendant features a light opening crafted from opal acrylic, ensuring a soft and inviting illumination. The luminaire is delivered in five parts for easy assembly using an Allen key, and it is suspended by a 3-meter wire accompanied by a 3-meter white textile cable. For specific needs, a tube pendant version is also available upon request.
The Eagle Pendant comes with a fixed installation setup, featuring a snap-in terminal block compatible with 5x2.5 mm² wiring. It includes a high-quality LED light source with color temperature options of 3000K or 4000K and a minimum color rendering index (CRI) of 90, ensuring vivid and natural light quality. According to EU regulations (No 2019/2015), this product holds an energy efficiency class E rating.
Equipped with a DSI/DALI driver, the lamp offers smooth dimming from 1 to 100%. It retains its dimming setting even after a power failure, adding convenience and reliability. Additional functions such as SwitchDim and CorridorFunction enhance usability, and each luminaire operates with one ballast per DALI address, making it suitable for modern lighting control systems.
