Central to the Quasar® eLite is its patented HD-LED technology, which provides near-perfect color rendition across the full visible spectrum. Unique Red Balance Control allows clinicians to adjust the balance of red light to match their own optical response, optimizing visualization of tissue and subtle variations in color while reducing eye strain. The lamp achieves a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of Ra 95 and an R9 red value of 95, ensuring strong, vibrant, and accurate color perception for all tissue types. Carefully positioned reflectors eliminate color separation or “color shadows” typically associated with multi-colored LEDs, providing uniform, consistent light across the surgical field.

Quasar® eLite incorporates Fat Beam technology, delivering one of the largest and most uniform beams in the industry. The high light flux creates expansive illuminated fields with adjustable diameters ranging from 150mm to 420mm, allowing large wound sites to be fully visible. Beam intensity is fully adjustable from 100% down to 5%, including specialized endoscopy settings, enabling clinicians to tailor lighting precisely to procedural needs. The system’s soft Comfort Halo reduces eye strain caused by high contrasts, while solid-state focusing eliminates moving parts, ensuring reliable, maintenance-free operation.

Mobility and ergonomics are key features of the Quasar® eLite. The lamp head’s low weight, combined with a spring-balanced multimovement arm and needle roller bearings, allows effortless positioning and stable, drift-free adjustment. The light can be rotated at multiple points with extensive vertical and horizontal movement, providing optimal access from any angle. A sterilisable, removable handle ensures precise manipulation, while optional disposable handle covers enhance infection control. The mobile base is castored with locking wheels for secure and flexible placement within the operating room.

Infection prevention has been integrated into every aspect of the Quasar® eLite. The sealed lamp head prevents ingress of dust, fluids, and contaminants, while smooth, continuous surfaces minimize split lines, facilitating thorough cleaning and disinfection. Anti-microbial coatings further reduce the risk of bacterial contamination, and the system is compatible with all UCV ceilings, minimizing air turbulence and thermal lift in critical environments. Optional HD-SDI or 4K cameras can be fully embedded into the lamp head, providing high-definition imaging for documentation, remote viewing, or integration with Brandon Medical’s Symposia® systems. Quasar® eLite also synchronizes LED modulation with camera shutter speeds, eliminating visual artifacts on display monitors.

Electrical resilience and environmental performance are integral to the Quasar® eLite. Standard models consume less than 50 watts of power while delivering up to 160,000 Lux at one meter, and the LEDs have a life expectancy of over 60,000 hours, equating to more than 20 years of normal use. For locations with unstable mains power, the Qe30MEL variant includes an integrated Brandon Emergency Battery Power Unit (BEPU), providing 1 to 4 hours of autonomy under full load. Intelligent switch-mode charging, battery monitoring, and automated reporting ensure reliable backup during power interruptions, meeting regulatory standards including IEC(EN)60601-2-41, HD60364-7-710, BS7671-2018, and HTM06-01. The iBEPU system connects with Brandon’s iTCP theater control platform, supporting NFC-based monitoring, automated battery tests, and secure data reporting via mobile applications.

Quasar® eLite also incorporates advanced connectivity and theater integration through Brandon Medical’s i2i platform, enabling smart networked device management, Internet of Things integration, and future-proof modular theater construction. This system facilitates operational efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and supports sustainability initiatives, including an estimated CO₂ reduction of at least 1.25 tonnes per year.
