Since introducing the original Focus Track Series eight years ago—the first super-compact zoom rail fixture featuring built-in DMX512 and 24 VDC control options—CLS has expanded the series to include various rail and surface-mounted fixtures. Tens of thousands of these products are now installed in museums worldwide. As competitors introduced their own zoom-function fixtures, CLS pushed innovation further by developing the Focus MicroG2, a uniquely advanced lighting solution designed specifically for showcase lighting.
One of the key features of the Focus MicroG2 is its unparalleled zoom range, enabled by the CLS Performance Zoom system. Users can quickly and easily adjust the beam angle from a narrow 6° to a wide 90°, offering the highest precision available in the museum showcase spot market. This extensive zoom range allows lighting designers to create the perfect beam angle for any object without compromise, making it ideal for highlighting art, artifacts, and exhibits.
Despite its compact size, the Focus MicroG2 combines elegant design with exceptional functionality. Measuring only 16 mm in diameter—roughly the size of an AA battery—and standing between 48 mm and 66 mm tall, the fixture remains virtually invisible and unobtrusive when installed. The sloped backside of the housing visually slims the fixture, creating a perfect balance between form and function that sets the standard for future compact lighting solutions.
Mounting and control options for the Focus MicroG2 are extensive and flexible. Available mounting methods include track versions with built-in 24 VDC and DMX512/Roto Dim and Magno Dim electronics, surface-mounted magnet attachments with integrated 24 VDC and DMX512 controls, surface-mounted screw attachments with external control options, and variably adjustable fixtures with extension rods ranging from 0 to 90 cm. This versatility makes it easy to install and tailor the fixture to virtually any lighting project or environment.
The Focus MicroG2 also delivers excellent color rendition, with LED options covering extra warm white (2700K), warm white (3000K), white (3500K), and neutral white (4000K) color temperatures, all offering a high CRI of approximately 95. Custom LED colors are available upon request, subject to minimum order quantities, providing further flexibility for specialized applications.
With a power consumption of only 1 watt and a light output of 87 lumens, the Focus MicroG2 is an energy-efficient yet powerful spotlight. The fixture includes advanced dimming capabilities such as mains dimming, 1-10V dimming, Magno dim, Casambi wireless control, and DMX512 compatibility. The CLS Smart Connect system enables seamless integration with modern lighting control environments.
Additional features include a 360° horizontal swivel and 90° vertical tilt, an internal slot for correction and color filters, and two included CLS Flex Snoots that can be trimmed to the desired size or shape by the user. Extension pipes of 10 cm and 30 cm are also available to further customize fixture height and focus.
