Mini LED Pixel Controller with RF Remote and Pre-Programmed RGB Chasing and Color Changing Modes

The DiGidot C4 Extended is a powerful and versatile LED pixel controller that combines all the features of the DiGidot C4 Live with a host of advanced capabilities designed for professional lighting environments. Unlike the standard model, the Extended version adds functionality such as scene recording, a scene generator, playlists, and advanced triggering options, making it a complete stand-alone solid-state controller for both small and large lighting installations.

One of the key advantages of the DiGidot C4 Extended is its recording and playback functionality. The controller is capable of translating Art-Net and DMX signals into SPI protocols, and it can record these signals directly onto its microSD card. An 8GB card provides up to 10 hours of recording time, allowing entire lighting shows to be captured and replayed without the need for additional control systems. Scenes can be looped indefinitely, or blended seamlessly for continuous playback, and multiple DiGidot C4 units can be synchronized to play the same recorded presets across large installations. This capability makes the controller extremely efficient for projects that require reliable playback of complex lighting effects without constant live operation.

The controller also supports stand-alone playback and scene management through its built-in user interface. Users can configure devices, record and edit scenes, create playlists, and adjust playback in real time. Brightness, scene speed, and color adjustments can be made instantly during live playback, ensuring flexibility for different environments. Scenes are compatible only with C4 units using identical configurations, which guarantees consistency across synchronized devices.

Triggering is another area where the DiGidot C4 Extended excels. In addition to user interface controls, scenes can be triggered automatically upon power-up or activated using the controller’s 3.5mm TRRS jack, which supports three analog inputs such as dry contacts or 0-10V signals. This allows seamless integration with physical switches, motion sensors, or other external devices. Time-based triggers can also be set using the built-in calendar function, enabling specific scenes or actions to be executed on particular dates or at scheduled times. This makes the system ideal for venues that require automated lighting changes, such as architectural displays, retail spaces, or entertainment venues.

Because the DiGidot C4 is fundamentally a networking device, it integrates easily into local networks for remote management and system integration. Each unit has its own IP address and name, making it easy to identify and configure multiple controllers. The device can also be controlled using third-party automation platforms such as Crestron or AMX through HTTP GET commands. Additionally, content can be managed directly through the DiGidot iOS app, which allows wireless control when connected to the same network, providing a simple yet powerful method for mobile operation.

The DiGidot C4 Extended is capable of driving a large output volume, supporting up to 4096 individual LEDs or 1365 RGB LEDs across four outputs, each capable of handling up to three universes. Both SPI and DMX signals can be output, giving users flexibility in how they connect their LED drivers and fixtures. This eliminates the need for additional Ethernet nodes or switches, resulting in more cost-efficient installations. Multiple DiGidot C4 controllers can also be linked together to act as one unified system, scaling easily to very large projects.

Compatibility is another strong point, with support for more than 40 LED IC protocols, covering approximately 80% of LEDs used in professional lighting. DiGidot continuously expands this compatibility to ensure new chipsets can also be integrated. The unit offers full control via a web-based HTML5 interface, which is responsive and compatible with Mac, Windows, and mobile platforms using browsers such as Chrome or Safari. Through this interface, users can configure universes, assign IC types, route outputs, and name devices with unique IP addresses, all with minimal setup difficulty.

From a software standpoint, the DiGidot C4 Extended integrates seamlessly with professional lighting control systems. It has been tested extensively with MADRIX but is also fully compatible with platforms such as ArKaos, Chromateq, Pharos, MadMapper, Resolume, and grandMA consoles. This broad compatibility ensures that it can be used in a wide variety of professional environments, ranging from live events and stage productions to architectural and commercial installations.

Physically, the device is compact and lightweight, measuring 153 x 74 x 28mm and weighing only 140 grams. It can be mounted via din-rail, ty-rip, or screws, making it adaptable to different installation environments. The controller supports up to 6144 Art-Net channels or 1024 DMX channels and can record up to 10 hours of content on the included 8GB microSD card. Additional accessories such as a USB power cable and RJ45 cable are included for setup. Input voltage options of 5, 12, or 24V DC make it versatile for integration with different power environments.

In essence, the DiGidot C4 Extended is not just a simple LED controller but a comprehensive lighting control hub. It can function as an Art-Net or DMX to SPI converter, an Art-Net to DMX node, a recorder, a signal merger, and a triggering interface. Supporting over 50 SPI protocols and a wide range of industry standards, it offers an all-in-one solution for controlling pixels and integrating lighting systems of any scale.
