Medium Intensity LED Obstruction Beacon for Day and Night FAA-Compliant Structure Marking

The STAR Series represents a new generation of medium intensity LED obstruction beacons engineered for both daytime and nighttime marking of tall structures such as towers, buildings, and wind turbines. These FAA-compliant flashing beacons combine a durable mechanical structure with state-of-the-art LED optics and an intelligent modular electronics design, making them one of the most reliable and serviceable lighting systems in the industry. Each beacon requires only a single controller and cable run, ensuring a clean installation while significantly simplifying maintenance.

Designed with field serviceability in mind, the modular electronics in the STAR Series beacons are accessible either within the fixture or at ground level, reducing downtime and repair complexity. The system can operate using either AC or DC input power, with a unique optional power supply configuration—either integrated directly in the beacon or located within the controller. This adaptability offers unmatched flexibility in installation and system design.

The LoneStar beacon within the STAR Series is FAA Type L864/865 certified and exceeds FAA standards for medium intensity obstruction lighting. It is paired with the LC-STAR controller to ensure seamless, synchronized performance, featuring advanced optics and control systems that deliver precise light distribution and reliable function. This includes built-in infrared (IR) LEDs for pilot visibility with night vision equipment, LED temperature intensity compensation, and built-in protection against radio frequency interference and electrical transients per IEEE C62.41-1991.

Optional monitoring capabilities elevate system intelligence and oversight. These include 10 configurable alarm inputs, SNMP programming with get/set capabilities, real-time event logging, manual override of connected lights, battery discharge protection, analog monitoring ports, and support for both GPRS/CDMA wireless modems and Ethernet TCP/IP connections. Temperature monitoring, cabinet access alarms, and a real-time clock with EPROM configuration are also available. Through the TWR Web Portal and optional HIMS (Hark Independent Monitoring Service), operators can remotely access site data, receive automated NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) alerts, and engage in full-scale reporting via TWR's NOC services.

Compliant with international standards including FAA AC 70/7460-1M, ICAO Annex 14 Volume 2, CAR 621, and DGAC, the STAR Series ensures global compatibility and regulatory confidence. With a five-year warranty, low power consumption, up to 20 years of operational life, and industry-standard mounting, the STAR Series is a forward-thinking solution for aviation obstruction marking.
