Lumatek introduces the VF120W, a specialized LED fixture designed specifically for seedlings, clones, and any crops requiring low PPFD levels. This innovative addition to Lumatek’s Vertical Farming (VF) Range is ideal for controlled environment agriculture, including propagation facilities, nurseries, climate chambers, warehouse farms, and container-based grow systems. Engineered with versatility and performance in mind, the VF120W delivers a balanced spectrum and high photon flux output to support healthy, uniform plant development in vertical farming setups.
The VF120W features four integrated 30W LED bars utilizing high-spec 4000K white and 3000K warm white diodes, resulting in a total PPF output of 308 µmol/s and an impressive efficacy of 2.4 µmol/J. The light distribution covers a 120° beam angle, providing uniform light coverage over a footprint of 1.2 x 0.5 meters. It also includes Lumatek’s clear Glue protection cover technology, which enhances light transmittance up to 99% without losses, extends diode lifespan, improves corrosion resistance, and maintains a waterproof rating of IP65. Basic maintenance is straightforward—simply wipe the bars with wet cotton.
This fixture operates on 130W of input power at 230V and benefits from passive cooling for silent, efficient thermal management. It requires a separately sold 650W driver, which can power up to five VF120W units. The VF120W is fully dimmable with settings from 25% to 100%, and dimming can be achieved through a 0–10V light dimmer or via external digital control using the Lumatek Digital Panel Plus 2.0 or any universal controller supporting 0–10V output. Even controllers with an RJ port interface can be used with an RJ-to-0–10V signal converter. For large-scale operations with a 3-phase power supply, a 400V 650W driver version is recommended.
Advanced external control features include automated dimming in 1% increments, timing functions, temperature safety protocols, and sunrise/sunset simulation for up to 100 fixtures per controller. The VF120W is also designed with daisy-chain driver connectivity for streamlined multi-fixture setups using a single dimmer.
