The rStrata outdoor step light is a rugged, utilitarian recessed wall luminaire available with one or two LEDs. Designed exclusively for vertical wall installation in a downlighting position, this compact fixture is crafted for reliable performance in outdoor environments. The rStrata is offered in copper, emphasizing durability and natural aging, and delivers a subtle, effective light output ranging from 20 to 33 lumens with power consumption options of 2.2 or 4.4 watts. It operates on a 10–15 Vac/dc input voltage at 50/60 Hz and requires a remote transformer, specified separately.
Equipped with an integral driver and Lumileds® LEDs, the rStrata utilizes CoolDrive™ onboard thermal monitoring and control to extend the fixture’s lifespan beyond 72,000 hours (L70, B10, TM21 Reported). It is dimmable via trailing-edge (reverse phase-cut) dimmers or advanced Luxor® control. When paired with the ZDClink Controller, users can zone rStrata fixtures into up to 250 groups, dim each in 1% increments, or change colors with RGBW LEDs when using the ZDC version. Standard models are compatible with ZDClink for basic zoning and dimming.
The fixture features a frosted polycarbonate lens known for high impact resistance and tolerance to thermal expansion, supported by multiple horizontal louvers for effective glare control. The hardware is constructed from tamper-resistant stainless steel for added durability. rStrata is built with a die-cast C360 brass faceplate, an A380 aluminum housing, and a PBT sleeve, ensuring excellent structural integrity and long-term outdoor performance. It is rated IP64 for protection against dust and water, certified for use in dry, damp, and wet locations, and holds a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0 with an IES Type IV distribution. To meet dark-sky compliance requirements, a light source of 3,000K or lower should be selected.
A range of finish options enhances rStrata’s aesthetic adaptability, including natural metal, brushed Antique Bronze, tumbled Antique Tumbled, or a dual-layer protective coating consisting of sulfuric acid anodization and TGIC polyester powder coating. These finishes are tested to ASTM standards, and antique finishes are sealed with a clear TGIC topcoat for maximum resistance to outdoor weathering.
The fixture includes a pre-installation kit with a custom sleeve and debris cover. Knockouts for North American 1/2" pipe threads are accessible in both vertical and horizontal orientations, facilitating flexible installation. Wiring consists of a 10-foot (3 m) length of 18 AWG (1 mm) SPT-1W wire rated for 220°F (105°C) and 300 V. The socket is designed with MicroAntileach™ technology to prevent moisture from entering sealed components. Certified to UL1838 and compliant with IEC 60598-1 and 60598-2-4 when installed with the International Wall Kit (EKITWALL), the rStrata is a dependable solution for high-performance, discreet outdoor lighting applications.
