The fixture mounts directly over a horizontally installed 2"x3" switch box (by others, North America only), allowing for simple installation. A remote emergency lighting option is available, providing 1.5 hours of illumination in North America (3 hours in the EU). The emergency system includes an inverter module, NiCad batteries, and a remote wall or ceiling-mounted LED charge indicator and test switch, which fits a standard single gang box. The maximum distance between the wall/ceiling plate and the luminaire is 15 feet (4.5 meters).
