The Slate™ Pendant is a minimalist, high-performance suspended luminaire designed for modern architectural environments. With a depth of just 1 5/8 inches, this ultra-slim fixture integrates seamlessly into both high and low ceiling spaces, delivering a streamlined visual profile while maintaining powerful illumination capabilities. Its integrated mini driver supports its compact form, while a full-width frosted acrylic lens produces a clean, diffused light with exceptional uniformity. The pendant’s direct or direct/indirect distribution patterns ensure visual comfort across varied interior layouts, making it equally effective in private offices, open workspaces, and high-ceiling environments.
The Slate Pendant combines elegant form with architectural functionality. Its slightly regressed full-width lens softens glare and enhances occupant comfort, while a unique shallow optical system with a V-shaped top conceals the lamp image for a cleaner aesthetic and minimized visual distraction. It is available in standard lengths from 2 to 8 feet in 6-inch increments, as well as in continuous run configurations. Flat or radius end caps further extend customization for specific design themes. With output levels reaching up to 1000 lumens per foot for direct lighting and 1200 lumens per foot for indirect distribution, Slate Pendant is both visually subtle and functionally powerful.
The fixture’s design supports Tunable White capability through Axitune®, allowing users to adjust both correlated color temperature (CCT) and brightness for dynamic lighting environments. The TW2750 option spans 2700K to 5000K, offering excellent white quality that minimizes deviation from the Blackbody locus (Duv) and enhances mood, productivity, and visual clarity. These two-channel systems enable independent adjustment of CCT and intensity, using DALI 2.0 protocol for smooth dimming performance and full control integration.
Slate Pendant features a robust construction built from extruded aluminum housing (0.075" nominal), paired with die-cast aluminum end caps and joiners. The top cover is also extruded aluminum, and the lens is a precision-engineered frosted acrylic designed for smooth, spotless light transmission. The fixture is suspended using either a single 0.039” aircraft cable or a Ø 1/2” stem, allowing installation flexibility for a variety of ceiling types.
Control compatibility is a core part of Slate Pendant’s offering. Remote driver options include Lutron Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem (LDE1), DALI Type 6 and 8, DMX, Xitanium SR for wireless sensors, and Lutron T-Series Tunable White (LTTW). Power over Ethernet (PoE) is also supported through leading platforms such as MOLEX, IGOR, and SMARTENGINE. The fixture is UL2108 certified for remote driver use and can be configured with a remote emergency battery pack or circuit for added safety and compliance. Input voltage options include 120V, 277V, 347V, UNV, and DC.
Lighting quality is supported with a minimum CRI of 80 or 90, ensuring excellent color rendering in any application. Fixed CCT options include 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K, all tightly controlled within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse for outstanding color consistency both within and across fixtures. Engineered for longevity, Slate Pendant is rated for 50,000+ hours with 85% lumen maintenance at 25°C ambient temperature, in compliance with IES LM-80 standards.
Thermal performance is managed through the aluminum housing, which acts as a passive heat sink to extend LED life. Designed for dry and damp-rated indoor environments, Slate Pendant operates within ambient temperatures of 0–40°C (32–104°F).
