The DroneV GS™ is a compact, high-performance wingtip light designed to deliver navigation, strobe, and position lighting functions for drones and UAVs. Billed as the world’s smallest, lightest, and brightest 3-in-1 light in its class, the DroneV GS™ embodies Aveo’s proprietary technology in a micro-sized, aerodynamic housing. Its tiny, integrated circuitry offers exceptional performance and reliability without adding unnecessary weight or drag, making it ideal for unmanned aerial vehicles where space and efficiency are critical.
Designed specifically for drones, the DroneV GS™ is not approved for use on certified manned aircraft and does not hold a TSO (Technical Standard Order) certification. It is tailored for unmanned systems needing enhanced visibility and airspace safety, offering directional lighting for multiple functions: green for right-side navigation, red for left-side navigation, white for rear positioning, and a green strobe for signaling and collision avoidance.
The unit measures 75.5 mm x 21.1 mm x 19 mm (2.973” x 0.830” x 0.744”) and weighs just 30 grams (1.058 oz), allowing for seamless integration into small or mid-sized drones without compromising performance. The operating voltage range spans from 9 to 18 V DC. During navigation or position mode, the light draws 0.2 A at 14V with a power consumption of 2.8 W. In strobe mode, it reaches a peak current of 0.36 A at 14V and an average current consumption per strobe frame of 0.06 A, with a peak power draw of 5.04 W. The strobe light flashes at a repetition rate of 48 cycles per minute for consistent signaling visibility during flight.
To ensure safe and reliable operation, it includes reverse polarity protection and is capable of withstanding transient voltages up to 50V for one second. Although it does not have under-voltage or over-voltage protection, the DroneV GS™ is equipped with overheat protection that activates at +85°C (+185°F), ensuring durability in a wide range of environmental conditions from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F).
For installation, the recommended mounting screw sizes are M3 or #6-32, and it is advisable to use a 2.5 A fuse or circuit breaker for both the position and strobe circuits. Engineered for demanding applications, the DroneV GS™ is fully waterproof, dust-proof, and vibration-proof, making it a reliable solution for commercial, industrial, and recreational UAV operations where lightweight, high-intensity lighting is essential.
