LED Safety Torches with ATEX, IECEx, and UKEX Certification for Hazardous Gas and Dust Zones

The Wolf Mini and Micro Torches are engineered to be exceptionally tough, reliable, and compact, making them ideal for users who require powerful lighting in a device small enough to fit easily into a pocket. Incorporating the latest LED light source technology, these torches deliver highly impressive illumination for their size. The newest model, the M-70 Mini Torch, produces up to 107 lumens at source, powered by just two AAA batteries. All models are ATEX, IECEx, and UKEX certified for safe operation in potentially explosive gas, vapour, mist, or dust atmospheres, provided the temperature class rating is T4 or T5. Additionally, they are approved to Group I for safe use in mining applications.

Within the range, the M-70 Mini, approved as Category 1 equipment, is certified for Gas Zones 0, 1, and 2, as well as Dust Zones 20, 21, and 22. The M-10 Micro Torch and the M-40 and M-60 Mini models also hold approvals for Gas Zones 0, 1, and 2, and Dust Zones 21 and 22. These compact torches vary in light source design and performance to suit different operational needs. The M-10 Micro features a single white 5 mm Nichia LED powered by four alkaline LR44 button cells, producing an impressive beam for up to two hours from its ultra-compact size. The M-40 Mini utilises a cluster of three white 5 mm Nichia LEDs and, along with the M-60 Mini—which employs a single high-power Cree LED generating 139 lumens—runs on three alkaline LR1 ‘N’ cells. The M-40 provides up to ten hours of usable light, while the M-60 offers around three hours. The M-70, using the same high-power Cree LED as the M-60 but powered by AAA batteries, achieves 107 lumens with an extended runtime of up to seven hours. All models are supplied with their respective batteries for immediate use.

Built for durability, the Micro and Mini Torches are made from high-quality thermoplastic resin, offering excellent resistance to impact and chemicals. The polycarbonate lens is set back within a protective lens ring to minimise the risk of damage during use. Their ergonomic design ensures comfortable handling, while practical features enhance usability in demanding environments. Each model includes a lanyard hole— with the M-10 supplied with a neck cord—an integral pen-style pocket clip for secure retention and roll prevention, and a shrouded push-button for single-handed operation, reducing the chance of accidental activation. All models carry an IP67 ingress protection rating, guaranteeing they are dust-tight and capable of withstanding temporary immersion in water.

Performance across the range is tailored to balance brightness and battery life. The M-70 delivers 107 lumens for seven hours, the M-60 offers 139 lumens for three hours, the M-40 produces 3 × 30 candela beams for ten hours, and the M-10 outputs 30 candela for two hours. Certification covers a wide spectrum of hazardous environments, with ATEX, IECEx, and UKEX approvals for explosive gas, vapour, mist, and dust zones. The M-40, M-60, and M-70 are rated to the T4 temperature class, while the M-10 is rated T5. Dust approval includes M-70 certification for Zone 20 IIIC and M-10, M-40, and M-60 certification for Zone 21 IIIB, alongside Group I mining approval. With their lightweight form, proven toughness, and reliable lighting performance, Wolf Mini and Micro Torches offer a trusted portable lighting solution for both hazardous and industrial applications.
