The Velop™ suspended fixture is characterized by its sculpted arc shape, rounded end caps, and a lens that flows seamlessly from bottom to top, creating a continuous stream of light that softens architectural lines. Designed to balance both structure and fluidity, Velop integrates effortlessly into a wide range of environments, whether as a striking sculptural centerpiece or a subtle complement to architectural elements. Its wrapped diffuser fully encloses the frame, delivering consistent illumination without any visible seams or interruptions. This seamless design not only enhances the fixture’s aesthetic appeal but also optimizes its performance by providing uniform light distribution throughout.
The curved ends of Velop reinforce this cohesive lighting effect by allowing the lens to transition smoothly around the edges, preventing harsh cutoffs and maintaining a fluid, harmonious appearance. Available in both arc-shaped and straight configurations, Velop adapts to dynamic settings such as open offices, collaborative workspaces, hospitality venues, and more. This versatility ensures that it serves as a refined yet impactful lighting solution that elevates both the space and the experience within it.
Constructed with a durable aluminum body, Velop is finished with a powder coating that offers lasting protection and visual appeal. It is suspended using Power Over Suspension (P.O.S.) cables, which combine power delivery with a clean, streamlined look. The diffuser employs a protruding lens measuring 0.08 inches (2.1 mm), contributing to the fixture’s uniform and high-quality light output.
For safety and compliance, an optional remote emergency lighting system is available. This provides 1.5 hours of emergency illumination in North America and 3 hours in Europe. The system includes an inverter module, NiCad batteries, and a remote wall or ceiling-mounted LED charge indicator and test switch (available in North America only). The test switch fits a standard single gang box (not supplied), with a maximum allowable distance of 15 feet (4.5 meters) between the luminaire and the emergency system’s wall or ceiling plate.
Velop is powered by remote, high power factor (HPF) electronic drivers that support dimming and operate on 120-277V in North America and 240V in Europe. Wiring distance depends on wire gauge: 18 AWG supports up to 40 feet (12.2 meters), 16 AWG up to 60 feet (18.3 meters), and 14 AWG up to 90 feet (27.4 meters). Drivers must remain accessible after installation and may be mounted remotely or integrated into the canopy, depending on fixture size.
The fixture also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity, allowing integration into data networks for smart lighting control and enhanced functionality. Mechanically, Velop mounts directly over a J-box, which is supplied by others and applicable for North America only. It offers a long service life with an L70 rating exceeding 60,000 hours at 25°C (77°F). Delivered lumens and efficacy are based on white LEDs at 4000K with a minimum color rendering index (CRI) of 90.
Velop is rated for damp environments, making it suitable for areas with moisture exposure. For locations requiring seismic compliance, bracing kits are available; interested parties should consult the factory for specific details to ensure adherence to local codes and regulations.
