Constructed with an injection-moulded polycarbonate body and opal cover, both of which are fire-retardant, Thoroproof is designed to withstand both chemical exposure and physical impact. Rated IP66 for water and dust ingress protection and IK08 for impact resistance, it is ideally suited for industrial, commercial, and hygienic environments where reliability and safety are critical.
This luminaire is designed for a long service life, delivering up to 100,000 hours (L80/B10) of operation across an ambient temperature range from -20°C to +45°C. Its smooth, easy-clean lines and secure cover clips help ensure hygiene and maintenance efficiency, making it particularly suitable for use in plant rooms, workshops, industrial process areas, storage areas, multi-storey car parks, shower rooms, and toilet blocks. For food processing environments, it also meets HACCP and IFS standards.
Thoroproof supports rapid and secure surface installation using external stainless steel brackets, which maintain the IP rating. A factory-fitted through-wiring option is available to simplify installation on larger projects. Although suitable for external mounting, it is recommended that the luminaire be installed under a canopy and protected from direct sunlight to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
The fixture is available in 1200 mm and 1500 mm sizes, with lumen outputs ranging from 4,410 to 9,255 lumens and efficacies reaching up to 167.9 lumens per circuit watt. It offers a consistent 4000K neutral white light with a CRI of 80+, making it ideal for general task lighting across a wide range of environments.
Emergency lighting versions are available with maintained operation, delivering 715 to 735 lumens for a full three-hour duration using reliable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries. SmartScan wireless control options are also offered, eliminating the need for additional cabling and making Thoroproof an ideal choice for retrofit applications.
