ICAO Type A + B Solar-Powered Low-Intensity LED Obstruction Light for Remote Aviation Hazard Marking

The ACWL_SOLAR04 is a solar-powered, low-intensity red obstruction light engineered to meet both ICAO Type A and Type B requirements for nighttime marking of aviation hazards. Specifically designed for structures that may pose a risk to aircraft during night operations, this compact beacon provides reliable and energy-efficient illumination using LED technology. Emitting a steady red light in accordance with the CIE chromaticity boundary, it delivers an intensity greater than 32.5 candela, making it ideal for marking structures such as tall buildings, chimneys, cranes, water towers, cooling towers, and telecommunication masts.

The body of the ACWL_SOLAR04 is constructed from glass-reinforced plastic with a red UL94-HB rating, while the transparent cap is made from durable polycarbonate rated to UL94-V2. The unit is powered by a 40Wp polycrystalline solar panel and delivers over 120 hours of autonomy after a full charge (60 + 60 hours), ensuring continuous functionality even in prolonged periods of low sunlight. Designed and manufactured in Italy, the beacon is engineered for extremely low power consumption, high corrosion resistance, and very low wind drag, contributing to long-term stability and durability in exposed outdoor environments. The fixture requires no maintenance during its extended service life of up to 100,000 hours and operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +50°C.

With full 360° horizontal light coverage, the ACWL_SOLAR04 offers versatile application options and can function either as a stand-alone unit or as part of a multiple-light system with a centralized control board. When integrated into a networked system, optional GPS-based flash synchronization ensures harmonized illumination across all lights. For enhanced operational oversight, remote monitoring and management can be enabled via the proprietary Telemetry© system, and maintenance is simplified with the optional Retractable© system, allowing quick and safe access to the unit.

The ACWL_SOLAR04 meets or exceeds key international aviation standards, including ICAO Annex 14, Volume I, Chapter 6 for visual aids to obstacle marking (Type A and B), FAA AC 150/5345-43 for Type L-810 low-intensity lighting, and CAA CAP 168 Group A requirements. Its rugged design, plug-and-play simplicity, and regulatory compliance make it a dependable solution for aviation hazard lighting across a wide range of infrastructure types.
