The BABEL high-power light tower represents an exceptional combination of safety, functionality, and contemporary architectural design for large-area lighting. Ideal for roundabouts, parking lots, junctions, and wide open spaces, this lighting system ensures superior visual comfort and safety while maintaining an elegant and distinctive appearance. Its conical steel pole, crafted with a pseudo-triangular section, not only reinforces structural strength but also enhances the visual identity of the installation, transforming the light tower into an architectural landmark rather than a purely functional structure.

Recognized as one of the most versatile high-mast lighting solutions in its category, BABEL has been developed specifically for modern urban infrastructure where performance and aesthetics must coexist seamlessly. Each tower integrates high-output LED modules engineered to provide precise and consistent light distribution across large surfaces. The system is available in three configurations, offering six, twelve, or eighteen integrated LED modules, allowing designers and engineers to select the ideal version according to the size and lighting requirements of the area. This modular approach ensures that every installation—from compact roundabouts to expansive parking zones—achieves uniform and glare-free lighting.

The optical system of the BABEL tower has been meticulously developed to optimize performance and coverage. Two optical variants are available: the AS-4W asymmetrical wide-beam optic, ideal for broad-area coverage, and the AS-6M asymmetrical medium-beam optic, suitable for more concentrated lighting applications. With a standard color temperature of 4000K and an optional 3000K version, BABEL produces a clear, visually balanced light with a color rendering index (CRI) of 70 or higher. The LED modules achieve a remarkable source efficiency of 168 lm/W at 525mA and 85°C, ensuring powerful yet sustainable lighting output.

BABEL is engineered for durability and operational reliability under challenging environmental conditions. Each lighting assembly achieves an IP66 protection rating, safeguarding internal components against dust and water ingress, and operates efficiently within ambient temperatures ranging from -30°C to +40°C. The modular LED components are integrated into the structure but can be removed for maintenance without compromising the optical system’s IP integrity. The entire luminaire maintains a fixed tilt angle of 0°, ensuring precise light projection.

Structurally, the BABEL tower demonstrates exceptional mechanical integrity. With a total height of 15 meters and a maximum diameter of 2180 mm, it is designed for both visual impact and stability. The pole itself measures 15 meters above ground and is fabricated from 4 mm thick galvanized steel, treated according to EN 1461 standards for corrosion resistance, and finished with a durable powder coating. Its base diameter measures 388 mm, tapering elegantly to 180 mm at the top, forming a sleek silhouette that complements modern urban environments.

Electrical and control systems are integral to BABEL’s versatility. The tower operates on a 220–240V, 50/60Hz power supply, with a power factor greater than 0.9 at full load. A built-in surge protection device (SPD) rated at 10kV–10kA (Type II) includes LED indicators and a thermofuse, automatically disconnecting the circuit at the end of the SPD’s life cycle for enhanced safety. The luminaire also demonstrates robust impulse resistance, rated at 10kV for both common and differential modes.

Control flexibility is a defining feature of the BABEL system, enabling intelligent lighting management across diverse applications. Available control options include a fixed non-dimmable configuration, automatic dimming through a virtual midnight algorithm, a custom dimming profile (DAC), and a constant luminous flux (FLC) mode to maintain consistent brightness throughout the product’s life. For smart city projects, BABEL can also be equipped with WL point-to-point wireless telecontrol, allowing real-time monitoring and adaptive control for greater efficiency and convenience.
