The luminaire’s precision lighting performance is supported by an extensive range of advanced driver options. These include the Lutron Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem with Soft-on, Fade-to-Black dimming, as well as DALI, DMX, and Xitanium SR interfaces for enhanced wireless sensor integration. Prime also supports BIOS dynamic and static spectrum control, with SkyBlue® Bio-Dimming™ technology that modulates spectral content during dimming to promote human wellness. Tunable White capabilities are available via two-channel 0-10V, DALI Type 6/8, or Lutron DALI drivers, enabling independent adjustment of intensity and color temperature for personalized lighting experiences. Additional compatibility with Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems—including MOLEX, IGOR, and SMARTENGINE—further expands Prime’s smart lighting integration.
With its support for input voltages of 120V, 277V, 347V, UNV, or DC, Prime is adaptable to a range of electrical infrastructures. Emergency lighting options include integral battery packs or dedicated circuits to ensure compliance and safety in critical egress paths.
Color rendering is offered at a minimum of 80 or 90 CRI, with BIOS versions delivering R9 values above 75 across all CCTs. The luminaire supports a range of correlated color temperatures including 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K with exceptional consistency, staying within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse. BIOS static and dynamic options add layers of customization, while BIOS Tunable White delivers a flexible blend of white light and SkyBlue® content that adapts to user needs. Axitune systems may also be specified for further CCT personalization, making Prime suitable for a broad array of architectural lighting schemes.
Designed for long-lasting performance, Prime’s LED system delivers a minimum of 50,000 hours of operation with 85% lumen maintenance in 25°C ambient conditions, in full compliance with IES LM-80 standards. The fixture's extruded aluminum housing doubles as an efficient thermal management system, contributing to LED longevity and reliability. Prime is rated for dry and damp locations, capable of operating in ambient temperatures ranging from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
Construction quality is a key strength of the Prime Pendant. The housing is formed from extruded aluminum with up to 70% recycled content and a 0.070" nominal thickness. Diecast zinc is used for both end caps and joiners, while internal structural elements are built from 20-gauge die-formed sheet steel. Reflectors are made from 18-gauge steel, and lens joiners are also diecast zinc. The satin-finished PMMA lens offers 68% light transmission and a smooth, diffused glow for visual comfort.
Prime luminaires in lengths greater than 12 feet are categorized as systems (S#) and are constructed from pre-cut modular sections joined on-site using a precise joining mechanism. The system is engineered for clean, uniform light distribution across continuous runs, using a maximum 4-foot lens combined with joining end caps for seamless integration. This modular approach allows for flexible installation while preserving the clean lines and visual rhythm that define the Prime design language.
