Engineered for both beauty and efficiency, SideStep is available in six kit variations, from narrow to wide formats. Each configuration produces soft, uniform direct and indirect lighting from a single light source. The one-piece projected lens spreads appealing diffuse light across its entire surface, resulting in visually comfortable, evenly illuminated forms. Aluminum extrusions with seamless mitered corners further enhance the high-end architectural look, while the shallow form factor makes SideStep ideal for modern, low-profile ceiling integration.
This versatile luminaire is available with a range of advanced lighting control options. The system supports Lutron’s Hi-lume 1% EcoSystem (LDE1) with Soft-on, Fade-to-Black, as well as DALI Type 6 and Type 8, DMX, Xitanium SR, and 0–10V dimming. Power-over-Ethernet options are also supported through platforms like Molex, Igor, and SmartEngine, with UL2108 certification for integral or remote driver installation. Emergency battery packs or emergency circuit options are available as well, making SideStep suitable for safety-compliant applications.
Color quality and flexibility are at the heart of SideStep’s design. Choose from a CRI of 80 or 90, with optional BIOS integration for enhanced biological lighting effects. BIOS Static (STC), Dynamic (DYN), and Tunable White (BTW) systems allow for a range of CCTs—2700K to 4000K—along with Bio-Dimming™ and SkyBlue® spectral control for circadian rhythm support. Fixtures maintain excellent color consistency within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse, ensuring uniform output across individual and multiple luminaires.
Built to last, SideStep boasts a minimum 50,000-hour LED lifespan with 85% lumen maintenance at 25°C, per IES LM-80 standards. Aluminum construction acts as an efficient heat sink, enhancing thermal performance and durability. Rated for dry and damp indoor environments, SideStep performs reliably in ambient temperatures between 0°C and 40°C (32°F–104°F), making it a compelling option for commercial interiors, hospitality spaces, and high-design architectural projects alike.
