Engineered specifically for heavy-duty environments such as engine rooms, storage lockers, lazarettes, and other onboard utility spaces, the DuraLED50 is purpose-built where performance and safety cannot be compromised. Hella marine’s advanced lens and optical design ensure an ultra-wide spread of light that avoids glare or harsh point sources, offering bright, comfortable illumination that enhances visibility and safety without eye strain.
Each lamp is completely sealed and constructed from impact- and shock-resistant materials, providing exceptional durability and a long service life even in high-vibration or moisture-laden conditions. The UV-resistant, enhanced impact acrylic lens ensures long-term clarity and performance in both interior and exterior settings. Every unit is pre-wired with 2.5 meters of twin-core marine cable, simplifying installation and ensuring watertight, corrosion-resistant electrical connections.
Installation is further enhanced by a unique surface-mount system that uses a heavy-duty nylon bush. This design transfers the fastening load away from the housing, eliminating stress points and preserving the structural integrity of the lamp. The DuraLED50 is also engineered for low electromagnetic interference (EMC), meaning it won’t disrupt onboard radio communications or electronic systems.
Fully sealed to an IP67 rating and compliant with ISO 8846 standards for ignition protection, these lamps are safe for use in hazardous areas where flammable gases may be present. They are suitable for both wet and dry locations, inside or outside the vessel, allowing for consistent visual aesthetics across an entire installation.
Operating on a wide Multivolt™ range of 9–33V DC, the DuraLED50 is protected against reverse polarity to -700 volts and voltage spikes up to +500 volts. It consumes less than 12 watts of power, maintaining a cool-to-touch surface that eliminates the safety hazards of high-temperature lighting. Color temperature options include 5000K white, as well as white/red or white/blue dual-color variants, supporting both task and ambient lighting needs.
