Nemalux’s XR Series is a highly versatile, industrial-grade LED fixture purpose-built for extreme environments. Its rugged construction, advanced thermal engineering, and intelligent optical performance make it an ideal solution for challenging industrial, marine, and hazardous location lighting applications. Engineered with a low-profile, lightweight aluminum housing, the XR is easy to install and robust enough for high-stress deployment. One of its key design strengths is the thermal separation of the LED and power supply, which enables operation in ambient temperatures as high as +75°C without compromising system life or safety.

Designed for use in marine, harsh, and hazardous locations, the XR Series holds multiple certifications, including UL 1598, UL 1598A, UL 8750, CSA C22.2 No. 250.0, No. 250.13, UL 844, and CSA C22.2 No. 137. Its safety ratings cover Class I, Division 2, Groups ABCD; Class II, Division 2, Groups FG; Class III; Class I, Zone 2, Group IIC; Zone 21; and Zone 22. These robust classifications confirm the XR’s readiness for deployment in explosive atmospheres and high-risk industrial environments. Ingress protection levels of IP66 or IP68, along with pressure-equalizing membranes, defend the internal components against dust, moisture, and humidity.

With lumen outputs ranging from 8,000 to 20,000, the XR fixture provides exceptional illumination across a variety of mounting heights, from 8 to 25 feet. Built-in auto-ranging power supplies support both 120–277 VAC and 347–480 VAC inputs, while standard 0–10V dimming enables fine-tuned lighting control based on user preference or facility needs. The fixture's high-performance optics and efficient lens designs allow for wide or targeted light distribution, significantly improving visual comfort and reducing glare. Select XR models also meet DLC qualifications, offering additional utility rebate potential.

Advanced optics are integrated into the lens structure, delivering precise beam patterns while maximizing lumens per watt. This results in better area coverage with fewer fixtures—reducing total fixture count by up to 25% compared to traditional options. Furthermore, perimeter bands around the emitting surface provide full cut-off, making certain XR models compliant with Dark Sky requirements for reduced light pollution.

Built for extreme durability, the XR housing is composed of copper-free aluminum alloy with a multi-layer powder-coated finish, offering superior resistance to UV exposure and chemical corrosion. The housing also serves as the heat sink, promoting optimal convective airflow and minimizing debris buildup. These thermal and structural advantages not only prolong LED and driver life but also support safe, long-term deployment in chemically harsh or high-temperature conditions. With simplified access for maintenance, field-replaceable drivers and LED modules allow for easy component replacement and system upgrades—extending the XR's operational lifespan.

The XR Series includes a built-in junction area with three ¾” NPT entries, allowing for through-wiring of multiple units on a single circuit. Eight standard mounting options, along with compatibility with custom brackets, offer exceptional flexibility for various applications, including pole tops, platforms, wall packs, surface and yoke-mounted installations, and high or low bay usage. The fixture’s design is ideal for installations in modular buildings, walkways, marine vessels, aerospace test equipment, and mining environments.

For projects requiring submersible performance, Nemalux offers the IP68-rated XR-EN variant. This model is sealed with an optically clear encapsulant, providing continuous operation even when submerged up to 25 feet—suitable for maritime, infrastructure, or other water-prone environments.

Additionally, the XR is certified for Zone 21, addressing explosive dust atmospheres common in industrial settings. In combination with Nemalux's retrofit adapter, the XR can be installed into legacy Eaton Crouse-Hinds mounting hoods—offering a fast, cost-effective upgrade path without the need to replace existing hardware.

Finally, Nemalux supports safe fixture access with the Maxis™ lowering pole system, enabling safe maintenance without ladders or scaffolding.
