The MIOLB-M1_xxSR is a medium-intensity red obstruction light meticulously engineered to provide reliable nighttime marking for structures that pose a potential hazard to aviation. These include tall buildings, industrial chimneys, cranes, water towers, cooling towers, and telecommunication masts. Designed to meet ICAO Type B and FAA L-864 requirements, this beacon combines red flashing light with integrated infrared output to ensure compatibility with night vision goggles (NVG), enhancing safety for both conventional and military aircraft.

Built around a robust LED-based light source, the MIOLB-M1_xxSR delivers a visible luminous intensity of 2000 candelas and an infrared output exceeding 246 mW/sr. The beacon operates with a flashing rate ranging from 20 to 40 flashes per minute, adhering to international aviation standards for obstacle lighting. The optical system emits red light precisely within the CIE chromaticity boundaries for consistent and compliant performance.

Crafted in Italy, the light features a high-durability anodized aluminum body and a transparent polycarbonate cap, offering excellent resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. Its slim aerodynamic form ensures a very low wind load factor, making it suitable for high-elevation or exposed installations. The beacon provides 360-degree horizontal light distribution and requires no routine maintenance over its extensive service life, rated up to 100,000 hours.

This obstruction light is engineered for energy efficiency, consuming only 6.5 watts of average power at 20 FPM with a 500 ms flash duration, while peak power consumption remains low at 40 to 42 watts depending on the voltage input. It supports a broad input voltage range, including 12 VDC, 24–48 VDC, and 110–230 VAC, allowing flexible integration into a variety of power systems.

The MIOLB-M1_xxSR can be deployed as a stand-alone unit or integrated into a coordinated multi-light system. Optional features include GPS-based flash synchronization for simultaneous operation across multiple units and compatibility with the Telemetry© system for remote monitoring and management. Maintenance efficiency is further enhanced by the Retractable© system, which simplifies access to the unit in difficult-to-reach locations.

This beacon is fully compliant with both ICAO Annex 14 (Volume I, Chapter 6) regulations for Type B, medium-intensity obstacle lights and FAA Advisory Circular AC 150/5345-43 specifications for Type L-864 obstruction lighting equipment.
