The MIOLC-E1_xxD is a double (main plus stand-by) medium-intensity red obstruction light specifically engineered for nighttime marking of tall and potentially hazardous structures such as flare stacks, chimneys, offshore platforms, cranes, and storage tanks. Classified as an ICAO Type C light, it is designed to emit a steady red output that ensures reliable obstacle visibility for aviation safety during low-light conditions. Built to meet explosion-proof requirements, the MIOLC-E1_xxD is suitable for use in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres, including offshore and industrial facilities.

This obstruction light employs high-efficiency LED technology to deliver an intensity exceeding 2,000 candela in compliance with CIE chromaticity standards. The beacon features a dual steady light configuration, ensuring continuous operation through its main and stand-by units. Engineered for durability and environmental resistance, the housing is made from copper-free die-cast aluminum alloy, while the optical section is protected by a high-transparency glass cap. The light supports multiple input voltage ranges—24 VDC, 40–54 VDC, and 110–230 VAC (50–60 Hz)—with respective low power consumption values of 25 + 25 W or 28 + 28 W, depending on the model.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the MIOLC-E1_xxD offers several advantages for industrial and aviation safety applications. It features extremely low power consumption and a design optimized for high resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for harsh marine and offshore conditions. The unit is built with plug-and-play connections, enabling quick and simple installation, and has a very low wind load factor along with 360° horizontal visibility. The light is maintenance-free throughout its long operational lifespan of up to 100,000 hours and operates effectively across a broad temperature range from -20°C to +60°C.

The system offers flexibility for use as a stand-alone beacon or as part of a coordinated multi-light system controlled by a centralized board. Remote monitoring and control capabilities are supported via the proprietary Telemetry© system, and optional Retractable© mounting enables easy maintenance access without interrupting operations.

Compliant with a wide array of international standards, the MIOLC-E1_xxD meets ICAO Annex 14, Volume I, Chapter 6 requirements for Type C medium-intensity obstacle lights, as well as CAA CAP 168 regulations. It is certified under the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx standards for equipment in explosive atmospheres, and carries the EAC mark in accordance with CU TR 012/2011 for explosion-hazardous environments.
