The Defend Flood 2 Series is a high-performance, marine-rated, explosion-proof LED floodlight and high bay designed for the most demanding industrial and hazardous environments. Engineered to withstand the world’s harshest marine conditions, this fixture is built with a rugged marine-grade cast aluminum housing and an adjustable mounting harp crafted from 316 stainless steel. All external hardware is also made of 316 stainless steel, ensuring superior resistance to corrosion in saltwater and chemically aggressive atmospheres. The housing is finished with a durable gray thermoset powder coat for added protection, while a clear tempered glass lens shields the powerful light source. The Defend Flood 2 Series is extensively tested, including salt spray exposure to ASTM B117 standards for 1,000 hours, guaranteeing long-term reliability in challenging environments.

Offering a wide range of lumen packages and wattage options, the Defend Flood 2 Series is available in two configurations to meet diverse lighting requirements. The DFN2-LO models operate at 40W or 60W, producing 5,600 or 8,400 lumens respectively, while the DFN2-HI models deliver 14,000 lumens at 100W or a powerful 28,000 lumens at 200W. All configurations feature a CRI greater than 70 for accurate color rendering and are available in three color temperatures—5000K, 4000K, and 3000K—to suit various application needs. Designed for longevity, each fixture offers a rated life of 100,000 hours and incorporates advanced thermal management to perform in extreme ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to as high as +65°C, depending on the model.

The Defend Flood 2 Series incorporates advanced optical engineering with two beam pattern options: a 60° flood optic for more concentrated illumination and a 120° wide flood optic for broader light distribution. These optics are optimized for high-efficiency light output, ensuring precise coverage for both task and area lighting. The fixture supports multiple mounting methods—ceiling, wall, or pendant—making it adaptable for a wide range of installations. Three 3/4-inch NPT openings allow for versatile wiring access, and quick wiring features simplify both installation and maintenance.

Electrical performance is equally robust, with power options supporting either 120–277V or 277–480V at 50–60Hz. The fixture includes 1–10V dimming capability for adjustable light levels, 6kV surge protection for electrical stability, and compliance with strict hazardous location ratings. The Defend Flood 2 Series is UL/cUL certified to UL 1598 for wet locations, UL 1598A for marine outside type (saltwater), and UL 844 for hazardous environments. It meets Class I, Division 1 Groups C and D; Class I, Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Division 1 Groups E, F, G; Class II, Division 2 Groups F, G; and Class III standards. The fixture carries an IP66 ingress protection rating for complete dust and water resistance and an IK10 impact rating for maximum mechanical durability.
