Dialight’s Medium Intensity SafeSite® LED Strobe Lighting System is purpose-built for reliable obstruction lighting on structures such as towers, wind turbines, chimneys, industrial stacks, and building rooftops—especially in demanding environments and hazardous locations. Engineered to meet global aviation safety regulations, the SafeSite® system is ETL verified to comply with FAA, ICAO, and Transport Canada standards, and is also rated for Class I, Division 2 hazardous areas. Designed to accommodate FAA tower types D and E, it provides high-performance dual-mode or red-only visibility for structures requiring medium intensity lighting in both day and night conditions.

The Dual Red/White SafeSite® System delivers consistent 360° coverage per flash head using Dialight’s patented optics, which also minimize unwanted ground scatter for better lighting control. Certified to FAA L-865/L-864, ICAO Types A, B, and C, and Transport Canada CAR 621 standards, the dual-color system is also compliant with UL1598 and UL8750, and is approved for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D environments. Rated IP66 for outdoor durability, the fixture withstands harsh weather and industrial stressors with high resistance to shock and vibration.

With a wide operating voltage range of 120–277V AC and 125V DC, the system ensures flexibility across global installations. The effective candela output reaches 20,000 cd for both white day and twilight operation, and 2,000 cd for both white and red night settings. The system’s power consumption is optimized for efficiency: 85W during white day operation, 35W at night in white mode, and 25W in red night mode. The controller draws just 15W. Operating temperatures range from -40°F to +131°F (-40°C to +55°C), and each flash head weighs 26 lbs (11.79 kg), while the robust control unit weighs 180 lbs (81.65 kg). This configuration is ideal for towers and structures that require red nighttime illumination in addition to daytime white flashing.

For applications requiring only red obstruction lighting, Dialight also offers the Red-Only SafeSite® Strobe. This version is certified to FAA L-864, ICAO Types B and C, and Transport Canada CAR 621, while meeting UL1598 and UL844 standards for Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. It retains the same IP66 environmental protection rating and robust construction as the dual-mode version, ensuring long-term performance in severe climates and high-vibration settings.

The red-only configuration is designed to operate in either flashing or steady-burn modes, with an effective intensity of 2,000 candela at night. The system operates on 120–240V AC (50/60Hz), with a power factor greater than 0.9. Energy usage is minimal: 20W for steady-burn operation, 3.3W during red night flashing, and just 5W for the controller. The flash head weighs 20 lbs (9.07 kg), and the controller unit comes in at 80 lbs (36.29 kg). Like the dual version, this system is built to operate reliably in extreme temperatures from -40°F to +131°F (-40°C to +55°C).
