The Titan™ (28 VDC) from AveoEngineering is a high-performance LED lighting solution engineered to serve as a direct PAR 46 drop-in replacement for legacy landing and taxi lights. Designed for aircraft requiring robust, high-output lighting in the most demanding environments, the Titan represents the next generation of aviation lighting with unmatched durability, power, and efficiency.
This advanced light fixture delivers a powerful 125 watts at 28 VDC, drawing 4.46 amps of current. It operates across a broad voltage input range from +18 to +36 VDC, with intelligent protections that include an under-voltage lockout at +17 VDC and an over-voltage lockout at +36.7 VDC or higher. Additionally, the Titan is safeguarded against transient voltage spikes of up to +80V for two seconds, ensuring reliability under fluctuating electrical conditions.
Equipped with 18 high-efficiency LEDs, the Titan offers two beam pattern options tailored to its application. For landing light configurations, it emits a powerful, symmetrical beam with a tight 5° viewing angle, ideal for long-range visibility. In taxi light configurations, the lens produces a wider 45° x 10° spread combined with a focused 5° beam, optimizing ground-level illumination for safe taxiing operations. The light output is a crisp Cool White with color shade 1D0, enhancing visual clarity during flight and ground operations.
Built to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh aviation conditions, the Titan functions in ambient temperatures ranging from -55°C to +85°C (-67°F to +185°F). Its smart thermal management system includes temperature-dependent intensity reduction to prevent overheating, preserving the light’s performance and longevity. The useful life of the Titan exceeds 30,000 flight hours, making it a long-lasting and low-maintenance solution for aircraft operators.
Physically, the Titan measures 5.67 inches in diameter and 2.4 inches in height (144 mm x 61.4 mm), weighing 950 grams (33.51 oz). The housing and heatsink are constructed from durable aluminum alloy with a natural anodized finish for corrosion resistance, while the lens is made from clear PMMA, ensuring optical clarity and impact resistance.
Whether used as a landing or taxi light, the Titan™ delivers extraordinary performance, rugged reliability, and modern efficiency in a familiar PAR 46 form—making it an ideal upgrade for aircraft seeking superior LED lighting technology.
