Directional LED Spotlight/Floodlight with Adjustable Beam Angles for Landscape Lighting

The dBeam-8 is a practical directional luminaire available in configurations of 3, 6, or 9 LEDs. An RGBW version is also offered, designed for use with ZDClink® Controllers, which allow advanced zoning and color control. This luminaire is engineered for downward-only installation and delivers a typical lifetime of 72,000 hours for the white LED version and 55,000 hours for the RGBW version.

Power consumption varies depending on configuration, ranging from 4.4 W to 12.2 W, with input voltage for white LEDs at 10-15 Vac/dc and for RGBW versions at 11-15 Vac/dc, both supporting 50/60 Hz. The device requires a remote transformer, which must be specified separately. The dBeam-8 uses integral drivers and incorporates white LEDs from Lumileds® and RGBW LEDs from Cree®. Thermal management is handled by CoolDrive™ technology, featuring onboard thermal monitoring and control to ensure efficient and safe operation. The fixture supports dimming via Luxor® control or trailing-edge (reverse phase-cut) dimmers.

The ZDClink Controller enhances functionality by allowing the zoning of luminaires into up to 250 groups, each dimmable in 1% increments between 0% and 100%. For RGBW models, it enables color changes among more than 30,000 hues. Users can select the ZD option for zoning and dimming or ZDC for zoning, dimming, and color control. Standard luminaires are fully compatible with ZDClink.

Construction of the dBeam-8 features a durable die-cast A380 aluminum housing and shield, complemented by stainless steel hardware and a die-cast zinc/aluminum alloy knuckle for added strength. Its finish includes a two-layer protection system composed of marine-grade anodization and a polyester TGIC powder-coat, ensuring superior resistance to outdoor weather conditions and compliance with ASTM testing standards.

The luminaire offers flexible beam angle options including Spot (20°), Flood (35°), and Wide Flood (60°). For Narrow Spot (10°), users can specify any beam angle and remove the beam angle lens onsite. This beam angle is field serviceable for ease of adjustment. The installation design supports downward lighting only, with a compress-and-lock mechanism that prevents slippage and allows for 9° increments of adjustability across a 220° range of vertical alignment.

Wiring consists of 18 AWG (1 mm) SPT-1W cable rated for 220°F (105°C) and 300 V, with a length of 26 feet (8 meters) measured from the light aperture; international ("e") length is shorter. The socket features MicroAntileach™ Technology to prevent moisture from wicking into sealed areas of the luminaire.

The lens is made of OptiClear™ tempered glass, providing exceptional optical purity and strength under load. Lens transparency varies by model, with the white LED version featuring a clear lens and the RGBW version using a frosted lens. Glare control is achieved through options of a 60° angled shield or a 2-inch deep 90° straight shield. Hardware is tamper-resistant stainless steel, and the luminaire threads use a ½"-14 NPSM standard.

Housing capacity supports round configurations of 1, 3, 6, or 9 LEDs or the ZDC-L configuration. Rated IP65, the dBeam-8 is suitable for dry, damp, and wet locations, making it a versatile and durable choice for various outdoor lighting applications.
