In line with ERCO’s perception-oriented lighting philosophy, Iku goes beyond basic tunable white by incorporating features like high visual comfort, vertical illumination, and seamless dimmability. This makes it the ideal tool for lighting designers and architects who view Human Centric Lighting as a holistic concept. Iku Work, a dedicated variant of the system, addresses the specific needs of office environments with standard-compliant solutions under EN12464. Its low-glare (UGR<19) optical performance and targeted oval wide flood distribution are ideal for workstations arranged in rows, supporting task clarity and visual comfort.
The AAA concept—architecture, activity, and atmosphere—defines Iku’s mission in Human Centric Lighting. In architecture, Iku accentuates vertical surfaces to support spatial perception and adapts light to different zones and room heights. For activity, Iku aligns with circadian rhythms and ergonomic needs by providing lighting that balances brightness and comfort while fostering communication. In terms of atmosphere, Iku offers tunable light settings that follow natural daylight patterns, allow for personal preferences, and shape the room’s mood through flexible lighting scenes.
The Iku range includes downlights, wallwashers, and double wallwashers that combine horizontal and vertical illumination to improve spatial orientation. Available with five distinct light distributions—including wide flood (approx. 60°), extra wide flood (approx. 85°), and oval flood (approx. 20° x 60°)—Iku adapts to various functional zones. The wallwash and double wallwash options deliver bright, uniform vertical light for corridors and rooms, enhancing both visual comfort and architectural clarity. With six fixed white light spectra plus tunable white from 2700K to 6500K, designers can tailor lighting to the time of day or desired ambience.
Available in diameters ranging from 84mm to 221mm, Iku suits ceiling heights from low to tall. Compact 84mm wallwashers offer new possibilities for low ceilings, while larger versions address higher spatial demands. Iku achieves outstanding efficiency, exceeding 100lm/W and maintaining luminous flux over time, which contributes to long-term performance and sustainability. Connectivity is modern and flexible, allowing control via Casambi Bluetooth, DALI, or traditional switching, all while maintaining flicker-free performance that’s ideal for video calls or filming.
Iku Work expands this system with three size options for ceiling heights up to 4m and focuses on delivering standard-compliant office lighting with high uniformity, good facial recognition, and glare control. The oval wide flood distribution (approx. 60° x 80°) is specifically engineered to illuminate rows of desks. Iku Work integrates seamlessly into Human Centric Lighting concepts with DALI compatibility, tunable white technology, and a dimming range down to 0.1%. It is also available with different anti-glare cone finishes—black, silver, or custom-colored to match interiors.
Both Iku and Iku Work are splashproof on the room side and meet safety class II standards. The housing is made from cast aluminum, designed as a heat sink, and rotatable through 360°, ensuring optimal thermal performance and flexibility in positioning. The ERCO lenses, made of high-quality optical polymer, include Fresnel profiles for wide flood, extra wide flood, and oval flood distributions, while wallwash and double wallwash versions support 360° rotation for precise alignment.
The lighting modules feature mid-power LEDs for downlights and high-power LEDs for wallwashers, available in fixed white (2700K, 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K) or tunable white. The anti-glare cones are available in black or silver, and the mounting rings come in covered or flush options to support various ceiling thicknesses. These thoughtfully designed components, from optical systems to control gear (switchable, DALI, or Casambi), ensure Iku delivers consistent performance, refined aesthetics, and architectural elegance across any application.
