The rHatch-12 is a versatile recessed wall luminaire designed to deliver both performance and flexibility across a variety of architectural lighting applications. It is available in two distinct style options, allowing designers to tailor glare control and aesthetics based on project needs. The fixture is also compatible with ZDClink® Controllers for advanced zoning and dimming capabilities, including RGBW color tuning via ZDC configuration.
With a total output of up to 125 lumens, the rHatch-12 offers three power levels—2.2 W, 4.4 W, and 7.2 W—to suit different illumination requirements. White LED models operate on 10–15 Vac/dc, while RGBW versions require 11–15 Vac/dc, both at 50/60 Hz. The luminaire integrates an onboard driver and requires a remote transformer, specified separately. Lumileds® LEDs are used for white output, while Cree® LEDs power the RGBW configuration. Lifetime performance is rated at over 72,000 hours for white and over 55,000 hours for RGBW (L70, B10, TM21 reported), and all versions feature CoolDrive™ thermal monitoring for heat management. Dimming is supported via trailing-edge dimmers or Luxor® control systems.
Constructed from die-cast A380 aluminum, the rHatch-12 includes a stainless steel mounting bracket and tamper-resistant hardware. The fixture is designed exclusively for recessed installation in vertical surfaces and is suitable for dry, damp, and wet environments, earning an IP65 rating. The included mounting bracket accommodates most single-gang junction boxes (horizontal orientation) used in North America.
The luminaire features a frosted polycarbonate lens that ensures even light diffusion and withstands thermal stress and physical impact. Multiple style choices allow users to select their preferred level of glare control. Internally, MicroAntileach™ socket technology prevents moisture ingress, enhancing the fixture's longevity and reliability. Wiring includes an 18 AWG, 10' (3 m) SPT-1W lead, with shorter lengths for international models.
The rHatch-12 is finished with a two-layer protective coating—marine-grade anodization followed by a polyester TGIC powder-coat—tested to ASTM standards to ensure exceptional durability in outdoor conditions. It complies with a range of international safety and performance standards, including UL 1838, CSA C22.2 No. 250.7, IEC 60598-1 and -2-4, FCC Part 15 Subpart B, and others.
With ZDClink® technology, users can zone luminaires into up to 250 groups, dim them in 1% increments, and, with the ZDC version, access more than 30,000 colors. This makes the rHatch-12 a powerful, design-forward lighting solution for architectural and landscape environments requiring high performance and visual consistency.
