Its innovative optical system features a ring-shaped lens that ensures uniform illumination and excellent glare control, enabling luminaire spacings of up to 10 meters without compromising visual comfort. The concealed optics and ERCO Dark Sky technology eliminate light emission above the horizontal, ensuring optimal visual conditions for both pedestrians and drivers while protecting the night sky from unnecessary light pollution.
Designed for functionality and aesthetic integration, the Castor bollard offers multiple sizes to accommodate different lumen outputs, supporting a wide array of exterior lighting requirements. In applications such as washlighting for open areas, its 360° light emission enables even illumination with spacings of up to 10 meters when the luminaire height is at least 800 mm. For pathway lighting, the 180° wide light distribution variant also supports consistent visual guidance with luminaire spacings of up to 8 meters, with flexibility to adjust spacing to suit specific design needs.
The luminaire’s construction reflects ERCO’s commitment to durability, visual comfort, and high-quality materials. Its light guiding ring is made from optical polymer, while the LED module uses high-power LEDs available in warm white (3000K) or neutral white (4000K). The anti-glare cone and upper cover are crafted from corrosion-resistant cast aluminum with a No-Rinse surface treatment, double powder coating, and a graphite m finish, ensuring longevity and resistance to environmental wear. The bollard body, also in graphite m, is made from an aluminum profile treated for reduced dirt accumulation. The integrated control gear supports switchable or DALI dimmable configurations, while the base plate allows for easy mounting using accessories ordered separately. With protection rating IP65, the luminaire is fully dust-tight and water jet-proof, making it ideal for outdoor environments.
