This module, combined with a precision-engineered collimating lens made of optical polymer, delivers consistent and glare-controlled illumination. Below, a Spherolit lens provides flood or wide flood distributions, while a textured polymer diffuser softly uplights the ceiling. The optical system’s superior control allows Atrium to achieve large lumen packages while maintaining high visual comfort, a critical need in demanding visual environments such as auditoriums and lecture halls.
The luminaire’s aluminum cylindrical body, offered in white, black, or silver, is powder-coated for durability and features an interior finish in black or matte silver to optimize light control. A choice of 30° or 40° cut-off angles further refines glare reduction. The system supports multiple control options, including switchable, phase dimmable (trailing edge), and DALI dimmable, with dimming levels precise down to 0.1%—ideal for environments requiring finely tuned light levels.
For uniform general lighting, ERCO recommends a luminaire spacing (d) of approximately half the mounting height (h) above the working plane (d = h/2). This spacing guideline ensures even illumination across the space. When using the indirect light component, suspending the luminaire at least 0.5 meters below the ceiling increases visual comfort by enhancing vertical brightness with diffusely reflected light. Additionally, for optimal wall illumination and room proportioning, a suggested wall offset is equal to half the luminaire spacing (a = d/2).
