The nColumn-10 is a cylindrical in-grade luminaire designed with versatile faceplate options available in configurations of 1, 3, 6, or 9 LEDs. It features a durable brass construction, with an option for an RGBW version compatible with ZDClink® controllers. This luminaire delivers a total lumen output of 192 lm and offers various power consumption levels depending on the LED configuration, ranging from 2.4 W to 12.2 W. It operates on an input voltage of 10–15 Vac/dc at 50/60 Hz for white LEDs and 11–15 Vac for the RGBW version, requiring a remote transformer specified separately.
Built for recessed installation in the upward lighting position, the nColumn-10 includes an integral driver and incorporates CoolDrive™ onboard thermal monitoring and control to ensure efficient thermal management. The LEDs use Lumileds® technology for white light and Cree® for RGBW models, providing a typical lifetime of over 72,000 hours for white LEDs and 55,000 hours for RGBW, according to L70, B10, and TM21 standards. The luminaire supports dimming through Luxor® control or a trailing-edge (reverse phase-cut) dimmer. Luxor® technology allows zoning of up to 250 groups with dimming increments as fine as 1%, and RGBW models can change colors from a palette of over 30,000 hues.
The nColumn-10’s physical construction includes a die-cast C360 brass faceplate combined with a powder-coated, die-cast C360 brass housing. It features black oxide stainless steel setscrews and a PBT construction sleeve. Finish options include natural metal, antiqued with brushed (Antique Bronze) or tumbled (Antique Tumbled) effects, or a two-layer protection of sulfuric acid anodization and polyester TGIC powder-coat finish, providing excellent weather resistance and ASTM-tested durability. Antique finishes are sealed with a clear TGIC powder coat for added protection.
Beam angles for white LED versions are field serviceable and can be specified as Spot (20°), Flood (35°), or Wide Flood (60°). A Narrow Spot (10°) option is available by removing the beam angle lens on-site. The RGBW version has a fixed beam angle. The luminaire ships with a pre-installation kit that includes a debris cover. Wiring consists of 18 AWG (1 mm) SPT-1W cable rated for 220°F (105°C) and 300 V, with a length of 10 feet (3 meters), measured from the light aperture. An international "e" version with a shorter cable length is available.
The luminaire employs MicroAntileach™ technology to prevent moisture wicking into sealed areas, enhancing reliability. Its tempered glass lens is designed for shock resistance and thermal tolerance, with clear transparency for RG, CW, or LV lenses, and frosted polycarbonate for GW lenses, which are highly resistant to thermal stress and physical abuse. Selectable glare control options are available to suit specific lighting needs. Tamper-resistant stainless steel hardware adds security and durability.
Weighing 2.4 pounds (1.1 kg), the nColumn-10 meets an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water ingress, suitable for dry, damp, and wet locations. The ground wash option is approved for drive-over applications according to IEC 60598-1, supporting loads up to 1,125 pounds (510 kg). This product complies with a range of certifications, including UL 1838, CSA C22.2 No. 250.7, IEC 60598-1, IEC 60598-2-4, FCC Part 15 Subpart B, ISED Canada ICES-005, EN 55015, EN 61547, EN 61000-3-2, and EN 61000-3-3, ensuring reliable performance in various commercial and architectural settings.
