Built with a rugged die-cast aluminum housing, it minimizes wind load while housing an integral, weathertight LED driver compartment and a high-performance aluminum heat sink system. The luminaire includes a spun vented cover and a built-in leaf and debris guard to maintain thermal efficiency and longevity. It offers several mounting options, including R3, R4, and R5 spider mounts—supporting round and square poles for a variety of applications—while ensuring clean lines and a secure fit with minimal hardware visibility.
Designed for versatility, the EDGE® Series provides exceptional efficacy of up to 136 lumens per watt with light output ranging from 1,145 to 25,065 lumens, replacing up to 400W PSMH fixtures. Its color rendering options include 70, 80, and 90 CRI depending on the selected color temperature, and available CCTs range from turtle-friendly amber to 3000K, 4000K, 5000K, and 5700K. These qualities make the EDGE® Series ideal for a wide range of outdoor lighting applications, including auto dealerships, parking lots, campuses, building facades, and general site lighting.
Electrically, the luminaire supports input voltages of 120-277V or 347-480V and is equipped with Class 1 drivers. It delivers a power factor greater than 0.9 and maintains total harmonic distortion below 20% at full load. The 0-10V dimming capability allows for flexible lighting control, with source currents of 0.15mA for 40–80 LED versions and 0.30mA for 100–120 LED configurations. Integral 10kV/5kA surge suppression is included to protect against power anomalies, and installations requiring fusing should utilize a slow blow fuse or type C/D breaker to manage inrush current.
The EDGE® Series is rigorously engineered to meet a variety of regulatory and environmental standards. It is cULus Listed for use in wet locations, RoHS compliant, and meets FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class A standards for conducted and radiated emissions. Its enclosure achieves IP66 protection when the luminaire is ordered without the "P" option, and it complies with ANSI C136.2 and IEEE/ANSI C62.41.2 standards for surge protection. The finish and housing are endurance-tested for over 5,000 hours in elevated salt fog conditions as per ASTM Standard B 117. Cree Lighting assembles the EDGE® Series in the USA using U.S. and imported parts, with select configurations compliant with BAA and/or BABA requirements.
