Cree KBL Series LED Low-Bay and High-Bay Lights for Gymnasiums, Industrial Facilities, and Retail Spaces

The KBL Series from Cree Lighting redefines low-bay and high-bay LED lighting with exceptional energy efficiency, flexible lumen outputs, and a wide range of options tailored to fit a variety of commercial and industrial applications. With light output ranging from 9,000 to 45,000 lumens and wattages from 55 to 255 watts, the KBL Series can replace traditional 150W to 750W PSMH fixtures or even up to eight-lamp 54W T5HO systems. Offering up to 178 lumens per watt, this series provides up to 65% energy savings over conventional lighting while delivering superior visual performance and reliability.

Built for versatility, the KBL Series supports a range of color temperatures, including 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K, all with a minimum 80 CRI. The fixture’s lightweight, low-profile design simplifies installation, and its universal hook and cord or pendant mounting options accommodate various ceiling heights and configurations. A wide selection of reflectors—aluminum, clear acrylic, polycarbonate, or white acrylic—and optional lenses make it easy to fine-tune uplight distribution and visual comfort across different environments such as retail spaces, gymnasiums, light manufacturing areas, and warehouses.

Cree’s robust construction includes a die-cast aluminum heatsink for thermal management and IP65-rated LED optics sealed behind a tempered glass lens to keep dust out. Optional integrated emergency battery backup ensures lighting continuity during outages, and the fixture's minimum operating temperature of 0°C (32°F) supports functionality in cooler environments. The series is designed for indoor use and meets multiple regulatory standards, including cULus, FCC Part 15, UL924, and RoHS compliance, with many models qualified for DLC Standard or DLC Premium listings. For enhanced compliance, several configurations also meet BAA and BABA requirements.

Electrical performance is backed by a power factor greater than 0.9 and total harmonic distortion below 20% at full load. Voltage options include 120-277V and 347-480V without the need for a step-down transformer. The KBL Series supports 0-10V continuous dimming to 10%, with a source current of 0.15mA, compatible with standard LED lighting controls requiring a neutral connection. Emergency backup luminaires are designed for switched emergency mode, ensuring flexibility and adherence to local safety codes.

At the heart of the advanced control offerings is Synapse® SimplySNAP, an intelligent wireless lighting control platform that supports up to 1,000 nodes per gateway. It delivers zone-based dimming, motion sensing, daylight harvesting, scheduling, and real-time alerts through a self-healing mesh network with browser-based access via smartphones, tablets, or PCs. Integrated options include the Synapse Wireless Controller (SWC), Wireless Controller with Remote Sensor (SWR), and Wireless Controller with Network Sensor (SWS/SWSS), which enhance the KBL Series' functionality by enabling utility-grade energy monitoring and seamless control integration.

Each luminaire includes a QR code on the top of the driver housing that links to online installation resources and luminaire-specific data, including serial number, part number, build date, and warranty information. Duplicate QR labels are also provided for ease of documentation and future maintenance tracking. Weighing in at just 10.4 to 14 pounds depending on configuration, the KBL Series is a high-performing, efficient, and intelligently controlled lighting solution designed and assembled in the USA from US and imported components, offering either a five-year or optional ten-year warranty depending on selected features.
